2) What is the dotted line from baseball to other end of campus?
1) I think I know what this is... and it's not TRBC

2) My guess is that is some sort of campus walkway... it links up all of the major buildings along it's path.

no inside knowledge but I'll make wild speculative guess anyway

1. assuming you mean the bldg up by the new medical bldg- Jr has mentioned several things: future graduate campus and outpatient clinic. So it's probably retail.

2. dotted line, as already answered- is the new "pedestrian greenway"

which disappoints me since I was hoping for a 4 lane blacktop blvd right thru the middle of campus so alumni dont have to get out of their Ford Expeditions (12 mpg) to see anything

A Liberty University-owned hotel on Candlers Mountain Road was recently remodeled and officially became the Fairfield Inn & Suites on Monday, May 18.

Formerly the Wingate by Wyndham, the hotel received a complete exterior and interior renovation.

My Jeep (17 mpg City) doesn't need a blacktop. Man up and drive :P

1) That's what I was thinking... it has the right feel to it from a campus flow (proximity to SOM) and parking persepctive.

2) I think calling it a greenway makes it seem as though there is no structure to it. From how I've heard it described, in many parts this will be essentially a pedestrian bridge from one part of campus to the other. The question is, will the students use it to go to the Student Center? At the moment, it appears as though the transit transfer center at Green Hall is gone, and I don't see any place on that map around the building that serves as a relocation, unless it's right in front of the Ice Center.

Also, while I'm sure it was a joke... I don't think they are re-routing University Blvd because they want to be "greener".... Study

"DEAR @LUADJEFF,

thank you for the shweet multiple construction cam website. http://www.liberty.edu/aboutliberty/index.cfm?PID=27192 It rocks.

Now, can we please 86 the 'Worship & Science' and 'Science Hall' cams (nothing going on there anymore) and replace them with 2 at the 'Bill so I can watch the turf and new video board installations.

thanks in advance

LU closing fall enrollment soon.

Liberty University set to close fall enrollment as demand grows
May 27, 2015 : Liberty University News Service
With demand at an all-time high, Liberty received a record number of applications for the Fall 2015 semester — 33,914 — marking a 3 percent increase over last year. Liberty’s growth in applications earned it the top spot on Mic.com’s list of the most popular colleges last year, showing 993 percent growth from 2003-2013 and eclipsing Ivy League schools.

This is also the 11th year that Liberty has increased and/or maintained its “quality indicators” for admission (SAT and ACT scores and high school GPA).

“At the same time we’re investing in the campus infrastructure, we’re revitalizing foundational academic programs and creating new ones that prepare our students to obtain jobs upon graduation in some of the fastest-growing career fields,” Johnson said. “With the high volume of applications coming in, we’re able to be selective and increase the quality of our student profile.”

So by being more selective, we're more attractive, which improves our rankings based on the criteria that the ranking organizations set, right?

Sort of... I don't see why it is that people put a lot of stock into the U.S. News Rankings though. Almost a quarter of an institutions score is based on the perception of that school, as determined by faculty/staff at other schools around the country. It's a good ole' boys mentality that isn't going to change too dramatically (especially in our case) from year to year.
#485514
What's funny is when I'm in a room with peers from other schools and someone mentions "U.S. Rankings" people actually get angry. It's like a 4 letter word in Higher Ed. I'm not sure I've ever come across a school that actually likes/trusts it.

Several new projects have been submitted to the city for approval. To look at the plans you might have to save the pdfs to your computer, they won't load in my browser.

The most impressive is the new Athletic Academic & Performance Center. The renderings look awesome.

Here are the plans for the new Indoor Training Facility and a new practice soccer field.
http://etrakit.lynchburgva.gov/etrakit3 ... R1506-0011

And finally here's the site plan for the roundabout currently under construction.
http://etrakit.lynchburgva.gov/etrakit3 ... R1506-0005

Some sweet projects coming along that will really change the look of campus when you come in from the tunnel.
