Man, I must be getting old.

When I said what I said about getting caught, I was referring to the administration, not God. Please keep that context in mind when reading it, rather than trying to distort it.

We'll all be held accountable, for everything, in the end.

Anyway, like Rooster suggested, how do these departures affect the team?

Man, I must be getting older and wiser.

So who will step up into this spot?

Fualaau's loss isn't a huge deal. He had already dropped to third string behind Kennedy and Edwards so he was going to get the garbage time looks, if any, unless one or both of them were injured. My guess is in a pinch they could convert someone to fullback if that ever happened though.

Sampson's loss looms a bit larger. He is one of our top returning tacklers from last year and I think was in line to be the starter at Jacob Hagen's spot. Lang or Manson could offer some more in depth analysis on the implications though

Disagree, with that BJ did you or anyone else even bother to think that this was the coaches method of reasoning to get him to get his grades in order. Hard for me to fathom the thought of going from 1st to 3rd without no snaps being really given. He was probably held out more in spring ball if he even participated at all, and they gave the other two more snaps purposely. Then you say hey im making you 3rd string to get his attn.

I agree to a certain degree, forbidden. His placement on 3rd team seemed to be a message being sent that apparently wasn't received well. But even with Nicky starting, losing Gary is a bigger loss overall IMHO.

Here is the thing forbidden...the term "violation of team rules" isn't always referring to academic issues. Remember, whatever the situation is, it isnt the first time they have had to address that with him. If this was the first time, then maybe kicking him off the team might be excessive. Also, remember, he was dropped to third on the post-spring practice depth chart, so it stands to reason that maybe, just maybe, Kennedy and Edwards outplayed him over the course of the 15 sessions, hence the drop from first to third. Once again, I will defer to Manson, BYD or Lang for a more in depth explanation of the situation.

I mean what percentage of plays is the FB even on the field. Maybe 40%? Kennedy wasn't much worse anyway. We won't miss Nicky one bit. Sampson on the other hand could be a huge loss. Might see Avery James slide back to start at Safety.

Sampson is where my concern was with this situation anyway. We have two FBs we can work with, and worse comes to worse, we convert a TE or other player to FB or we just operate without one.
