I would normally consider it unprofessional for them to follow a message board, but our coaches need to read this thread.

In regards to getting that offer out in front of the bigger schools....I think that theory has real merit. But, I think a kid already has to have an interest in that specific school that is offering 1st. For example, Jacob has 2 offers and it really hasn't had a huge impact on him because the chances of him attending either of those schools is probably close to zero. However, he does have 6 schools in his mind right now that he is REALLY hoping will offer him--Liberty, ODU, Richmond, NC State, WVU and Delaware. Geography, familiarity and their level of demonstrated interest in him are probably the cumulative driving factors of why he has those specific 6 schools in his head. Because he already has an expressed interest in Liberty. If they offered today, that would immediately vault them to the top and he may never look back. So, I do think the idea of early offers is extremely valid when a kid is already sincerely interested in the school.
I am a West Virginia grad. So, he has been going to Morgantown 2-3 times every season since he was 2. Both of his parents/grandparents and every relative of his--WVU fans. Currently, WVU is by far showing the most interest. 2 coaches and a GA sometimes communicating with him more than once a day. So, obviously that is where his heart is swollen. But, I am trying real hard to explain the business side and that he has no offer from WVU as of today. Yes, they are expressing a bunch of interest and playing to his heart strings. But, I am trying to get him to see that he is obviously a back up plan to one of those 4 star offers they have out right now. Up until recently, a wvu offer would have been a dream come true to me...but, as time draws near to choosing a school, is that the right place for him? Will he get lost in the shuffle up there? Those questions will need to be answered by him. But, as WVU dangles that carrot in front of him...if Liberty came in and told him they want and need him in their program. I honestly think everything changes immediately. But, right now there really is nothing else distracting him from WVU and they are putting on quite a show. I thought I would enjoy this process...but, I can't wait until it is over. :I chortle audibly.:
Believe me, I have been selling Liberty. Tech in 2016, Baylor in 17. Samantha Steele video. Mom loves the religious environment. Dad likes the conservative culture. Maybe a real chance to compete for playing time. Less than 3 hours from home. Beautiful stadium. Great coaches. Whats not to love about Liberty!? But, they have to offer and they may never offer. But, I am glad I found this website...Liberty fans are great!

Hooks wrote:On a totally different subject: I am just amazed of the efforts that LU has made to find a FBS conference home. Just from reading articles as far back as 3 years, I am sure y'all have been on quite an emotional roller coaster ride. I had no idea that all the conference realignment shuffling had such a trickle down effect on your school. In just about an hour, I have already an immediate dislike for the Sun Belt Conference. What a bunch of secularist snobs. On paper, LU has by far the most attractive resources to offer that conference and they keep snubbing their noses at the Christians. At least that was my initial objective perception of how they have handled their expansion studies. Conference USA, AAC and MAC should be looking to Lynchburg immediately. From what I have read, LU has more financial stability than most current members of each of those conferences. Better facilities and equal/better fan base. That isn't even mentioning the half million television sets in Lynchburg/Raonoke area.I like this guy. Can we keep him?
I don't mean to bring up a sore subject that I am sure has been dissected a million times. But, I bet that entire issue is pretty frustrating to say the least. But, some day soon, a conference will open their eyes and be thankful LU was picked to join their conference. Being a WVU grad, the conference realignment shuffling had WVU very close to being on the outside looking into the P5. Obviously, things finally worked out for them because they had invested in facilities and had the rabid fan base. I truly believe that LU will also get to FBS as soon as one of these conferences can look beyond religion and make a decision on capability. Just an observation from the outside. I sure would like to hear your perspective.
Thanks!

If you don't then so be it, we all know beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Rumor was they needed to see him throw, right, I wonder if ALL the other QB's had to throw before getting an "offer". I guess that is also a question alot of wives have asked in the past to if you really want to be with me why are you waiting.
