Damian favorited djs tweet as well. Huge. Like i said if we can haul in kithcart and clements and/or dalton it will be the best class on paper weve had and its not close. Who knows what other surprises we have out there like brown. Agree with forbidden here. Id put daniels and king back in the return game right now. Explosive!

I'm always excited about signing day but I am CRAZY EXCITED about it this year. Like a few of you said this is looking to be a very very good class. Gill and his staff have done a great job recruiting while they have been here but on paper this is the best job yet. I have a feeling that we could get use to seeing classes like this once the campus has finished its major overhaul. This includes the Athletic Academic Center and the Indoor Practice Facility. The future looks bright!

What? I can't both be happy that LU landed the kid and disappointed WVU didn't? I would also be happy if WVU got him and disappointed if LU didn't.
Seriously, I'm critical enough without you having to generate something not there

My opinion and point was simply that so many on here and on campus have a second team they cheer for either more than or equal to LU. This program needs to reach the point where folks grow up with and claim LU as their #1 team. Just an opinion. I think that is why so few here seem to get some of my statements. I'm at the point where LU is pretty much the only College I follow closely.

If the kid did commit then I am wrong and thats a very "big" get for the team for the future, for one it would most likely ensure that Masha stays at QB and the slot rotation of Parker, Kelly, and King could be very very dangerous in the coming years with the backfield of Macon and Hixon that is alot of speed for any defense to have to contend with.
King, and Daniels, Hixon will compete immediately IMO on ST to help improve the return game, now if they sealed this recruiting class with Dalton, I would say it would/should go down as their best in history and this team would have drastically made some improvements to not drop off, Dalton would rome the secondary at FS with his length you have alot of DB's competing for time and the offense just added tons more speed and weaponry.

If the only school I had ever attended or been involved with was LU than you'd be spot on.

I root for IU in basketball because I grew up there and I'm not sure they have anFBS football team :D
I root for WVU because I worked and Graduated from there.
It's not like I just pick teams willy nilly.

Fan bases at both those schools are harsh on their coaches. Cream and Holgerson are getting lit up by the respective can bases. it doesn't make them 'lesser fans'. Why should our coaches expect different?

I wasn't aware that Hickson had committed. Do you have some "breaking news" for us? You beat me to it on Masha. With Daniels and King in the fold, there is no reason to move him. He'll enter the Spring as the backup QB, but I have a feeling Bradwell is going to give him a run for his money.

I can't stand this mindset. Why do you need to only cheer for one school? Many cheer for multiple schools. This isn't just a "LU fans aren't loyal" issue. Fans cheer for collegiate programs based on relationships with that school.

I'm a Duke fan because their hospital practically saved a close friend.

I'm a VT fan because I grew up in Roanoke and I was involved with 4-H. Many of my extra curricular activities wouldn't have been possible without Virginia Tech.

I'm also a South Carolina fan because that's who my Dad cheered for, and I grew up watching them.

Above all of these, I am a Liberty fan since all of my family attended Liberty. On top of that, I attended Liberty and was Sparky for three years. None of that however will change how I support other schools.

I completely understand expecting employees to support Liberty exclusively. That's a branding issue. However, expecting fans and/or students to support Liberty exclusively is pretentious.

I have 4 schools that I cheer for: Liberty first, then ODU, UVa and Texas Tech, although I also occasionally cheer for Oklahoma because my wife worked there. Does that somehow make me a "bad person" or not a "true Liberty fan"? I certainly hope not!

JB himself said that's what he wants, at the freshman BBQ. I'm paraphrasing a little since this happened 4 months ago but he said "If you grew up cheering for one of those other schools, I understand that you're a fan. But when you graduate your diploma isn't going to say University of North Carolina or Duke or Penn State it's going to say Liberty University on it and we want to be your #1." JFJR said almost the exact same thing that day as well. And the kicker is a video they showed before convo for the first three weeks or so last semester. A group of students, presumably not freshman, are talking about their summer breaks. After one of the girls says she's excited for Flames football to start one of the guys introduces his freshman friend and they ask him what he thinks about the school so far. After the typical freshman response of "I love it" he says "but with all respect to Flames football, the team I really love is University of" and before he can finish the other school's name Sparky comes in out of nowhere and tackles him. At the end against a black screen it says in large white letters "Sparky's all in. Are you?". So it's obvious what our athletic director and president think about the issue of cheering for more than one school.

I don't find it unreasonable to put your alma mater first. Now I get PH and others who have multiple degrees from multiple schools, but I don't think it's unreasonable to think that talk here would be LU first. I Grew up a UNC fan and wore UNC everywhere. Now I rarely wear UNC and its all red LU all the time.

Of course those two are going to think that way. But that doesn't mean it's a problem if a fan wants to cheer for multiple schools. Aren't you a Maryland fan since you grew up in that area? Are you going to stop cheering for them now?

Based on this post, you and I agree. My post is in reference to cheering for ONLY Liberty. If fans have a side team or two, that isn't a problem.

Also, who cares if a student's degree says Liberty on it? If they're paying $20k to get that degree, they have no obligation cheer for Liberty athletics.

I totally agree that it's crazy to ask students and fans to only cheer for Liberty. One of my friends from high school is the only student I know that is a 100% Liberty fan. I'm still a Maryland fan, and I've seen the logo of almost every P5 team east of the Rockies on campus at least once.

Are they asking for exclusivity or just to be #1 on the list?

"Sparky's all in. Are You?" sounds like exclusivity and it's obvious the athletic department was involved in the making of that video. But JB's own words at the freshman kickoff "If you grew up cheering for one of those other schools, I understand that you're a fan" sounds more like asking to be number on the list. I think in a few years when 3rd generation students start enrolling at Liberty it will be easier to ask for exclusivity. If my math is right the original graduating class of LBC will turn 62 this year which means the first third generation student is around 10 years away from enrolling.

And if this made any of you feel old I apologize. Here to balance it out I will make myself feel old.
the N64 will turn 19 this year
