Indian Rocks Christian athlete Damian King picked up an offer from West Virginia, Golden Eagles coach Mark Buchanan said.
It is the first offer for King, a junior who a breakout season and helped IRC reach the Class 2A state semifinals for the first time.
Buchanan said King also is getting interest from Pittsburgh, Missouri and Northwestern.
This past season, King had 903 yards rushing, 615 receiving and scored 24 touchdowns. He also recorded a team-high six interceptions. He received plenty of accolades for his performance, including being selected first-team, all-state in 2A.

This kid is stupid in the return game, his open field vision is really really good he is definately going to make the first man miss. He would/should/could be peniciled in tomorrow as the opening day starter on returns for this team. Ill be the first to say that right now he is better than any of the guys we used last year. Some kids have a skill set that can't be "coached"

He would certainly be an interesting player at the slot or in some 4/5 receiver sets with speed like that. lemme get a look at his reel and check out his other tools

the Kid is good, just that simple, I know I would'nt want to kick to him, he can def set up the offense with good field position.
I really didn't see to many routes from him because of the wing formations they used him in. His best route, IMO was that double stop out route/comeback, other than that he was usually uncovered coming of the wing or in motion, so he could really help that slot game, read where he had 24 TD's that is just insane.

He'd be a cinch if only we had a sliver on grey uniform color scheme

I know it would'nt hurt, and if thats what it took, to get this school to the next level then it would be stupid not too. How ironic would it be that he ended up at WVU and they wore there gray uni's and we punted to him and he scored. Bet you would'nt hold your mouth to say it then would you...smh

If he ends up at any of the other schools listed...I think the fact they are FBS might be a bit bigger of a reason tHan having a bunch of different uniform combos...just saying...

Either way. I like how soft his hands are on those comeback routes. He doesnt seem to have drop issues like seemed to plague us at inopportune moments last year. Also, he controls his speed very well. We could run our jet sweep and then maybe run a few more wrinkles out of it to set up the pass game

3 things
First, if I was a receiver and had an offer from WVU or LU, the Flames would have to come with something special, like say a new car, to get me to come
Secondly, if a kid picks one school over another school simply because of their alternate uniforms, than they are welcome to him. That kind of mental midgetry is not something that's going to help a team.
Third, this grey WVU uni's are hopefully buried in an abandoned coal mine near Romney.

TY, for proving my point, your mental midgetry is/was clearly on display in those comments, but hey you like myself are entitled to them. You my friend are forgetting its the kids that make the schools its not the schools making the kids, that for sure. I def agree with your statement of what would make me choose LU over a WVU, you need to have that extra something, maybe a uniform could be it, maybe not in this case but in general. The kids you want to let go somewhere else are the same kids that could be the difference in a chip or a play-off appearance. Like I have stated LU needs that "extra" seeing as that they are who they are, and only thing that changes that perception are wins. Spending 8 mil per year I think some uniforms shouldn't be that big of an issue, if it means more wins and more exposure for the school, and if you say otherwise, I am gonna call BS on it.

I think WR's becoming All-Americans and going to the pros is a pretty good selling point. One alternate is not going to change someone's opinion on a school. No one cared about Oregon football and they were losing recruiting battles with the MWC. So Oregon hired Chip Kelly to make the offense fun to watch and Phil Knight and Nike made jerseys ESPN couldn't possibly ignore. Liberty is not Oregon, flash is not part of the team's culture. Red, white and blue make for great combinations, we've copied other schools' ideas enough, we need to do our own thing for once.

In his case yes I would agree, WVU has a more proven background than LU. The case for having a slightly different approach, like you said has worked for Oregon, and in the case of LU, I would say that its definately something that should have been broached for all the extra nonsense the school has had to be associated with, I wonder how LU would have been if Chip Kelly had come here to make the offense fun to watch and did something different to take the attn off of LU's history. Yes, the school has copied alot of what from other schools, everything but winning when it counts. Doing something on your own for once would still only catch you up from being so far behind the times as it is. The Play-offs was finally a start for football, but the face of the school is the women's basketball and mens baseball teams, as the two supposed biggest money revenue sports have undoubtedly not carried their own weight.
