I know that a lot of guys are still pretty raw from the Villanova game, but we have all been witnesses to a historic season from the mountain. Some of the highlights:

- 3rd win over an FBS team in school history (Appalachian State)
- 1st ever win over a top ranked team in ANY sport (Coastal Carolina)...yeah it was the Coaches Poll but still...#1 is #1
- 1st ever appearance in the FCS playoffs
- 1st ever postseason victory on the road (JMU)
-1st ever game with 20,000+ in attendance (Richmond)
- 2nd ever win in Conway to clinch the aforementioned playoff berth
- 1st 1000 yard rusher since 2008 (DJ Abnar)

We have a ton of guys coming back, and more than likely will be ranked to start the year...plenty of reason to be excited for spring football and for the 2015 edition of the Liberty Flames.

Regarding individual performances, Lang's article mentioned two receiving records that Darrin Peterson broke this year:

1. he broke the single season reception record with 85 catches (previous record was 81);
2. he broke the single season yardage record and finished with 1,379 yards.

Aldreakis Allen ran for over 1000 yards in 2012.

easily over 100 catches, if concentration issues can be resolved.

Have to get another go-to type WR to complement Petey, going to have to find someone to man that slot that Gabe did, in finding that hole and he complemented the TE great.

Have to hope that Sampson and Avery James, can do half of what Hagen did in the secondary.
Have to find another guy to step in and replace Scott on the corner, gonna be hard, both corners we had played inconsistent at times this year, with #23 getting more stops and playing a bit better than #6

If you would have asked just about any of us after the Richmond game when we stood at 3-3 whether this would be the greatest season in LU football history, most of us would have laughed. You could probably say the same thing just a few weeks ago when we had lost to Chuck South and weren't sure whether we'd see Josh coming back.

That is what makes the past few weeks so incredible in my view. We saw back-to-back amazing performances by a team focused on taking us to the next level. Then you factor in a game at #5 Villanova where we are talking about how we should have won a 2nd Round Playoff game ... on the road .... in the rain ....

We have come a long way in just the past couple of weeks. I'm not sure who we will have coming to Williams Stadium on September 5th or whether Montana proves to be our home opener. But the expectations and excitement around this program is going to be off the charts to start the season.

I'll look at the positions in more detail in the coming weeks, but Hagen was a bit of a question, but he more than answered it over the last few seasons and now looks like he could be the second consecutive draft pick for Liberty for I believe the first time ever.

Early on in his career yes, but he was our best defender this year and as I said, could get a call come draft time, especially with some good pro day numbers. I also would not be surprised if he gets an invite to Indianapolis

he will really hv to show in a cpl all star gms, if he gets to play in them, yes he has the measurable, but we all (should) know its more to it than that.

No need...I respect Jon, he respects me (though not as much). He understands where I come from and I understand where he comes from

What gives you that idea? Yeah, he's questioned the people in the positions at times, but anyone passionate about sports and their teams will do that if expectations are not being met...

I disagree to an extent with #12. Grooms never really saw the field for us because he sat out due to NCAA rules, so its tough to say whether or not he would have worked for us. I think the one to watch for that point is Will Johnson at tight end. I'd still hold to that point even if you were just focusing on running backs.

He left school and allegedly broke parole. I'd say that's the definition of not working out.

good gracious kid...if the second part is true I'm highly disappointed. I mean I could understand leaving because you see not getting carries once you finish sitting out, but wasting a second chance over the same stupid crap that got you booted from your last school? unbelievable...

Just saw in Richmond paper that JMU bided $200,677.50 to host playoff game. They ended up losing 130,000 on game because they did not sell 23,000 tickets they hoped to sell.
