Last night was an amazing experience for me and my kids. WOW! The LU crowd was AWESOME. Loud and Proud!
Glad I got to make it. These boys are playing with house money and really turning it up.

Lang, your wrap up of yesterdays game was dead on. Lewellyn, was REALLY missing his reads. Props has to go to Dex Robbins, he a small little dude, but plays like a poor-mans Zack Thomas.

My downtown Baptist church is filled with alumni from UVa, W&M, and JMU. After the LU win, one of my long-time UVa season ticket holding friends remarked just before Sunday school, "Jim, you should send the whole team--and coaching staff--up 29 to UVa."

Meaning, he liked Gill and his LU team much better than his family's alma mater--which is high praise from a long-time Boonesboro resident.

With this win, would it be fair to say that LU now has the best FCS team in the state?

What a great win for the program.

The fake FG was clutch and a turning point in the game. Woodrum was great on the last drive. He had a big run on 3rd & 8 to keep the drive going. He also had the scoop and run on the fumble at the beginning of the final drive to avoid a big loss. Petey had a big catch near the goal line on that final drive. Can't say enough about the D in the 2nd half. I like that we went to Gabe on punt returns after the other returner let the ball go down to the 2. I am surprised we hadn't going to Gabe or Shells returning punts earlier.

Hope that we will start to get some respect. I don't think many folks gave us a chance yesterday.

Excellent per usual too. But not really a football crowd. My Badgers had a good day too. My cars came in from Seattle on the trailer this morning. So all in all-perfect day..
I am not sure about football but the Cookout seems to be the place to go after baseball game. The Badgers are playing well and have a good chance at Big Ten title.

Sorry............... I just have to say this. Does anyone know where the LU crowd goes after a big MBB win? Me either, no one here is old enough to remember that far back. :)

This season was a success when we won the Big South outright and made the playoffs. I told SuperJon that Liberty could lose by 50 against JMU and the season still would have gone down in the books as successful.

That elephant in the room has been shot.

I agree...I was more hoping to hear from bluejacket (who seemed to disappear from the time the game started to now) as to that question

I've waited 24 hours to calm down after this win. First off, two weeks in a row this Liberty team has provided anything but "typical Liberty" results. As we sat and watched the team warm up, something was different. They didn't look nervous, scared, or intimidated. They looked focused and ready to play. I was stoked to see them score the first 10 points but I think everyone knew JMU was going to get back in the game. Even though there were 4 turnovers, I know the team and coaches were calm and collected, ready to make it a different half of football. The adjustments that were made, frankly I did not expect them to work that well. The defense was absolutely stellar and the offense was just physically dominating JMU and could pretty much do whatever they wanted. I don't think anyone around me let out a breath with 3 minutes remaining. I even almost turned my back at the 4th and 13 play but I am glad I didn't. When the ball was tipped and was incomplete, there was about 30 seconds to 1 minute of silence in most of the Liberty section. People were stunned. Then everyone erupted in the loudest cheer I've heard in years at a Liberty football. I am so proud of the way this team has regrouped and started playing their best football of the season. I got to talk to 5 or 6 of them after the game and they weren't shocked or surprised, they went there to win. I am so looking forward to the Villanova game. #GoFlames

Bob, how'd you hear silence after the tip? haha We were going Nuts. See the IG video I posted on twitter earlier.

But our crowd was the best. The greatest LU fan experience I have ever had. Crowd was the cream of the crop and engaged the whole time. So awesome.

As far as the game goes, it showed that we are starting to turn the corner as a program. Now we are winning consecutive tough games in a row when it counts the most, which is the mark of a program that is getting better. The coaches made excellent adjustments at halftime and the final offensive drive was very good.

Still plenty of things to work on. The offensive run game was not great except for the final offensive drive. Way too many turnovers and near turnovers. The run defense was good in the second half, but we need to start the game like that. If we can get those things corrected and have good play calling, we will be a tough out going forward.

I'm reading the JMU board right now. Hilarious! I wonder if they've climbed out of their delusion coma?

If we correct everything we ever did wrong and play perfect football from the opening kickoff to the final whistle we will be really tough. Wow, what a revelation!

Any chance lu streams this game in the vines after basketball. Did I hear bdubs did as well? I've went on the road the last 2 weeks and they were incredible. Not sure I can pull off 3.

How many LU fans ?
No way of knowing. Not sure what our allotment of tickets was. I know we sold beyond that number by purchasing through JMU ticket office.. I had a general sense there were at least 2K. I think we had 3 full sections packed wall to wall.

I just know the "line" to the men's bathroom at the half was a good 100 feet long :moppedthefloor

The things that I listed aren't asking for perfection. Protecting the ball/taking the ball away, establishing our run game, and stopping the opponent's run game are fundamentals in the playoffs. They will be especially important this weekend: the current forecast is 40% chance of rain and a high of 47 degrees.

We haven't played a complete game yet. Maybe this will be the week that it happens.
