Their defensive end, number 3, is a great player. He really disrupted Woodrum's passing. He got around the edge fast.

Apparently we didn't really win. It was all on the refs.
To be fair, a lot of them are giving us credit as well.

In spirit of the season and win I'm suspending my 'Other Boards' pet peeve.
Two Points
1. I am not Purplehaized and should sue for name infringement or something :P
2. Whoever Newetimes is needs to get a med check. They need to be adjusted. Complete embarrassment

Carry on

So, where does the LU crowd go to celebrate such a big win? I'm halfway moved into our place in Lynchburg as of today and was just wondering. Ended up having pizza at the Rivermont. Excellent per usual too. But not really a football crowd. My Badgers had a good day too. My cars came in from Seattle on the trailer this morning. So all in all-perfect day..

Liberty is demonstrating to everyone that they can play shoot out and/or smash-mouth football depending on what the situation calls for. I think those grind it out drives in the second half were awesome.

Hold team scoreless in second half , and win as a road underdog : #TypicalLiberty

The kool aid never taste so good.

Congrats to the team , more specifically , Sigmon family. It's been such a thrill watching a kid that went to HS 3 minutes from my house , win so many accolades and be on the best team in school history. You guys deserve it. What filthy (clean) hit that was on their last drive.

So does this mean we have succeeded now or do we still have to beat Villanova for this to be an accomplishment?

What a win. How about those pompous score predictions from the jmu clowns. I had 2 at work all week talking up a blowout. Before the season If you'd give me 4 teams I'd love to beat it would be jmu coastal app and Richmond. They almost pulled off all 4. How about the seniors stepping up. Kenny Scott gabe Henderson and dexter Herman have been unreal the last 2 weeks. Lunsford is an absolute weapon and props to him for salvaging his career. The threat of being able to connect from 57 made that fake possible. Have to give credit to Wimbo and the defense as a whole. Other than that long run they have been lights out 2 weeks in a row. I think jmu should build another addition to hold all their fans ;). They averaged about 5000 empty seats this year.

Liberty played with a chip on their shoulder. I get the sense that JMU fans and the admin will have a chip on their shoulder in regards to their perception of LU from here on out.

LU football has reached that "next level". No longer do we have to take a back seat to the CAA or Coastal Carolina . Hopefully the media and pollsters will give LU the same respect they give CAA and CCU.

Neither CCU or JMU nor Richmond earned their playoff berth by being a champion. All had to be at mercy of selection committe and get invitation to playoffs.

This season was a success when we won the Big South outright and made the playoffs. I told SuperJon that Liberty could lose by 50 against JMU and the season still would have gone down in the books as successful.

That elephant in the room has been shot.

This season has clearly been a success. We still technically shared the big south title so there is still room to grow but I think every LU fan Is viewing the season as a success but hoping it doesn't end here. At least that is my view.

Hopefully the App State fans can take solace in knowing that at least they could stil win FCS playoff games.

Let's get this straight. Two teams with the same conference record that played head to head is not a shared championship. We won the title outright. Three or more teams with the same record is a shared title. Two teams with the same record that did not meet in the same season would be the only example of a shared title between two teams.

Nope. It's a shared championship. Liberty just won the tiebreaker. Why do you think Liberty touts itself as Big South champion in 2013? It's the exact same scenario. Both went 4-1, Liberty lost to Coastal, Coastal lost to Chuck South.

That is why I said technically. Liberty touts itself has multi time big south champions due to technicalities as well. Either way we made it in and won a playoff game. Who cares about the rest?

A lot of people here like to make up their own rules. The fact is the conference we play in has no tiebreakers for their football championship, only for the autobid. If there is a tie, whether it is 2 way or 6 way, they have co-champions. We don't decide that. In a case like this year when you have a head to head between 2 teams at the top, the winner gets "bragging rights" along with the autobid, but as far as the league is concerned they are co-champions. We are in the playoffs, but we still did not achieve the "no sharing" goal. I'm fine with that for now.

We can't have it both ways. Either some of those past championships didn't count or this is a shared one.
