GWU is coming off a 2 OT win over VMI where they gave up a big lead in the 4th quarter. we should win this game coming off the bye week but we have to get pressure on Beatty and force them to lean on their run game (and do a better job than we did against ISUb, who did not have a great run game heading into that one)

This team hasn't won anything easily. Let's not kid ourselves - we're a flawed team. We should win but that blowout isn't happening.

I do not believe anywhere in those comments did I indicate a blowout TDD...I simply stated we should win this game. This bye came at a good time for us I think. I'm frustrated at the issues we have had this year but I'm not as jaded as you seem to be

This won't be a blowout but it will probably still be a two possession game. This is the first football game my parents are coming to so I hope it's not to boring or my mom will want to leave early.

Have her sit with the students so when she leaves early she won't be noticed.

The option looks that we experimented with against Richmond and App State really have opened up the running aspect more in Woodrum's game, and has benefitted DJ as well because the pitch allows him to operate in space which allows him to use his speed and get big chunks of yards.

Speaking of DJ...I am really impressed with him this year. he has done very well toting the mail for us, especially with Todd Macon out the last few weeks, and that hit on the App State defender is definitely a candidate for hit of the year.

Great intel, Chris. I realize Beatty's success last week was against the Keydets, but you still have to make throws and he has been doing that very well the past few weeks with Cook back on the field.

Our offense is finally clicking. Our D is decimated by injury, but the youngsters getting pt this year bodes well for next year when the injured players return. I expect us to play well on Saturday.

I emailed with Alan Ford, beat writer for G-W at the Shelby Star, and he said that with the coaching change since their last visit, while it hasnt really consumed a ton of thought, they do try to make the players at least aware of the history of the series and the importance of beating Liberty (which hasn't happened since 06)

Secondary is going to have to step up in this game. If we could get some pressure on the QB that would help, but we need to stop playing such soft coverage.

Great read Manson... if LU's defense can hold their run game with just 5 - 6 guys in the box, we can drop guys into coverage and really make it tougher for them to move the ball. Their D looks even more porous than ours. If Woodrum plays like he has the past 3 games, I expect us to win by at least 2 scores.

Alan is good people. He's been around here since 1979, he is a walking encyclopedia of not only G-W athletic history, but local high school athletic history as well. Chat with him for 5-10 minutes and you learn a lot.

Yes, LU is the standard, despite what the millionaire worshippers down in Conway think at the present. I wouldn't exactly call us 'rivals', but I think there is an underlying respect between the two institutions, along with us having Chuck and a couple of other LU folk around.

Hogwood is hosting Big South Media Day for basketball on Monday too. That's a good get for the conference right there!

What is the jersey combo for tomorrow? It may be out already but I haven't seen it. I'm hoping Blue/Red/Blue.

One of the few combos I don't really like. I'm not going to the game now  No I'll be there. Maybe it will remind me of the days of Coach Hout back at City Stadium.
