The playoff picture is beginning to shape. Some teams are close to qualifying and beginning this week, teams will eliminate themselves from contention. Depending on the site, we are listed as a first round host or a bubble team on the outside looking in. What do you think?

I left my schedule open in November and December for travel to Liberty playoff games in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Yesterday, I booked tickets for the whole family to travel to Costa Rica from November 19th - December 3rd.

I predict that we make the playoffs this year. Book it!

I'm amazed that two of those sites (including AGS) have both Liberty and Coastal getting a bid. College Sports Madness has a weakness in the LU/Coastal bracket -- I doubt that they're going to set things up so that conference-mates can potentially meet each other in the second round, which they have LU and Coastal doing -- especially since they would have just played each other!

Honestly, if we only lose one conference game, I wouldn't be surprised if we're in playoffs. I would have never said that at the start of the season. But I think the Big South is beginning to change it's perception. Not one team in the conference has a losing record. Monmouth and CSU have played really well all season. Presby beat a tough WCU team, and then CSU. Despite some questionable games, Coastal is undefeated. Gardner Webb has a couple of bad losses, but they're still 4-3. I would honestly be surprised if the Big South doesn't have two teams in playoffs.

On our part, we beat Bryant, who is ranked. All of our losses are against really good teams, and UNC. If we end 8-4, I would contend that would be one of the best 8-4 records in FCS.

It will be an interesting conversation for sure, but I'm thinking that Indiana State game may come back to bite us. We need them to finish the season 6-5 or better. Also, the more games App State wins, the better that win looks as well. If we're 8-4 (7-4 in the committees eyes), with our losses to UNC, top 5 Coastal, and borderline playoff teams in ISU & Richmond, we have a shot.

All that said, I like our chances at beating Coastal better.
