Its a deeper problem than just the coach at this point if what I have heard on the radio across the networks is any indication. I think a few people may lose their jobs over this one

He shouldn't last the season. Get read of the mistake when you realize it's a mistake. Keeping it around will just make it fester more.

I wasn't aware until just now of this episode with the starting QB being reinserted into the game with obvious concussion symptoms, as outlined by the Michigan microsite on SBnation http://www.maizenbrew.com/2014/9/28/685 ... concussion

Hoke has to go, not only for his complete inability to be a competent FB coach at Michigan, but for his gross negligence in player safety. And there should be some athletic trainers with their job status seriously called into question here if there really was no concussion test conducted and/or if none of them made an attempt to prevent Morris from being reinserted.

As a (nominal) Ohio State fan, I thought he was the best thing going in Michigan until this weekend's episode. As much as I'm afraid they'll get someone who can actually coach, he needs to be gone before his negligence seriously hurts a kid - if that hasn't already been done.

i was one of the guys who thought RR got basically rail roaded and I was not a Hoke guy. Hoke is a WAC coach and nothing more. His recruiting is about his only plus but its quite obvious he isn't capable of coaching a big program.

neither coordinator could take over this team effectively to be honest. but what the hey, tubs mc no headset can't do crap either.

he really blew this situation and its making more headlines that i think anyone expected. i wouldn't be surprised if it was over this week but brandon is as incompetent as an AD can be.

I don't know. What I do know is that Kansas showed today that they know more about football than the current administration at UM! lol

Definitely. Was never really a Rich Rodriguez fan and didn't think that he was a fit for a number of reasons, but the old guard at UM mercilessly attacked him openly and behind closed doors and never gave him a shot.

his downfall was disregarding the defense nearly completely. but that was his plan. institute an offense first because the defense actually had a few players while the offense had nearly nothing. but the defense was just awful. the way out was the paperwork violations that many speculate were too perfect the violation....not terrible enough to tarnish a name but bad enough to be fired for.

Yeah, Rich Rodriguez isn't a terrible coach. He made some really bad decisions, but UM fans had unreasonable expectations for the talent left on his teams.

Who do you think replaces Hoke? Who do you want to replace him?

As a WVU guy, I won't speak his name. But he knew what he was getting into at Michigan and went anyways.

I don't know if he knew fully the depths of the problems at Michigan until he was hired full time, but for the most part I agree.

So Michigan AD releases a statement at 1 am about the Morris situation. Statement says in one place"...the systems we had in place were inadequate to handle this unique & complex situation properly." It was a concussion, I've seen middle school teams have a better system in place for concussions then! There's pretty much a standard protocol in place for concussions!

And on top of that, the AD allowed Hoke to go to a press conference and sound like a babbling idiot when asked about the Morris deal. HE was "unprepared, unsupported, and left there to face live bullets" as mlive.com phrased it, which seems pretty on point. AD claims to have had several meetings about the ordeal since Sunday morning, said Morris had been diagnosed with a concussion on Sunday, and not a single person told Hoke about it. Wow, just wow. AD went out of his way to throw Hoke under the bus and left him lying dead in the desert for the wolves and buzzards to feast on him.

What a clown show they got running up there in Ann Arbor.

Where do they go from here? The only home run hire for UofM right now is Harbaugh and nobody really knows where he stands in San Francisco.

Pockets are deep at Michigan, and everyone has a price.

I really don't think that either Harbaugh will go to Michigan. Could be wrong, but I don't see it.

agreed. there were factions at michigan that attempted to railroad him from the beginning. he was not aware that would happen.

both harbaughs are possible. not likely though. Michigan has already had a 4 start decommit and without some sort of definitive answer and direction, more are likely to follow.

just think. penn state has recovered from an awful scandal in much less time than michigan has with just a coach retiring.

the AD will have to go to get a harbaugh. thats for sure.

there is a Fire Brandon rally tonight. be there or be square.

Its going to be a tough hire with incredible scrutiny. Some people think that it will be Dan Mullen, but I think that he goes to Florida and replaces Muschamp. The same thing has been said about Les Miles, but that is not happening either.

Of the two Harbaughs only Jim is probably more likely. John loves Baltimore and Steve Biscotti has very deep pockets.

Isn't that the AD who decided it was a good idea to give away football tickets for purchasing a bottle of Coke? If it is, he should be gone too -- he alienated a LOT of season ticket holders over that mess.

Two tickets for two cokes to be exact. Sounds like a raw deal for the fans, mediocre beverage, even worse football.
