O.K. Here is the fine line, with no insult meant to anyone, and certainly, the only insult possible would be to the rednecks. Someone on the Board (I'm not going to take the time to review the posts) made the joke about "color" on the court, and I feel confident in interpreting this as a racial reference.
Back in the old days of the NBA when race was still an issue (I believe that the Celtics were the first team to start five Black players) there was a cliche used in reference to how many Black players you could/should have on the floor at once time. It was, "One at home, two on the road, and three if you're behind." It was a statement on two things, not in any particular order: 1) racism within the ticket buying public & 2) The obvious ability of the Black players.

No particular point. I was just chipping in on the banter that the other guys brought up regarding the color of the floor, and where the thread evolved from there. If you're looking for something deep, it isn't there. Just a comment on the subject from an old guy reporting on how it used to be once upon a time. Things are better now -- by far.

High Point 59, Longwood 57
December 6, 2006

HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) -- Arizona Reid scored the go-ahead basket with just five seconds remaining as High Point rallied for a 59-57 victory over Longwood on Wednesday night.

High Point (6-3) trailed for most of the second half and overcame a double-digit deficit in the final eight minutes of play. The Panthers' defense held Longwood to a single point for more than seven minutes.

Reid finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Panthers. Mike Jefferson had 16 points and four assists, including the game-winning assist to Reid. Jerald Minnis added 10 points.

Maurice Sumter led the Lancers (3-7) with 18 points and Kirk Williams had 12 points.

Longwood led 31-28 at halftime and went up 41-30 at 14:54 as High Point connected on just one of its first nine shots of the second half.

The Panthers got within three points before the Lancers took a 10-point lead at 56-46 with 7:10 remaining.

High Point's defense took over from that point, limiting Longwood to just one free throw for the remainder of the game.

I think this thread is a good example of not having to much to say that far before the game...8 pages and all I took away from it is we need 3 on the floor at all times, if not we'll be in trouble

Husein, coming into the Furnace, may find himself between Iraq and a hard place.
