BJ: If you're "wondering why that hasn't happened yet," then you don't know JJ AND JB like you think you do.

Meeting in-person informally is fine. Kind of a, "what do we have to do to make this happen?" kind of thing. But Liberty is in absolutely no position to need to beg - as you make it out to be.

Might not have been a Top 5 crowd all time, but it wasn't bad. Nor were there any signs of attendance troubles. The students came and stayed while it was still a game. Baptist side was decent. Attendance could go up with a name school or winning at a new level. But it's not going to go down significantly if another DII shows up on the schedule in 2016 or 2017. Losing will do that, though.

Regarding what happened on the field: I trust Wimbo entirely. We saw a dialed-in D last week. And even if the reason had been lack of focus this week, I really wouldn't be overly concerned. But that's NOT the reason. I like Wimbo's reasoning.

You only win or lose by one point; all the others don't matter.

The goals vs. Brevard were: win .. Stay healthy .. Get some game snaps for second- and third-stringers. Check, check and check!

Anybody but me think it odd that Zac Parker did not field the kickoff in the 4th. It hit @ 5 yardline and rolled into the endzone? If Brevard had recovered it would have been a touchdown. Wonder if his mindset was it being a punt and landing inside the 10 he's going to let it go into the endzone.

I believe the rule is that if the ball lands in the endzone and no receiving team has touched it, the kicking team is not elgible to recover. It is an automatic touchback. I could be wrong, but that is what my memory is stating. Now if it had hit the ground and gone out of bounds, we start at the 35.

But I agree that it makes me nervous seeing live ball on the ground.

As to the students leaving, we were up big, on a D2. If I wasn't in the band (or being the yippie dog to SJ and his bunch which probably would have happened more frequently otherwise) I probably would have left early myself from some of those blowouts. If we get into a tight game with Bryant, Im sure youll see a higher percentage on the student side and probably even the Baptist side stick around. The only other sporting event during that time on campus is a D2 hockey game, There is a little student activities stuff (and a play), but really nothing that would pull a large number of people away. Now, if we blow them all the way back to Providence, youll probably see the same sort of result.

I stayed for the whole game on the Baptist side, but some of my freshman students mentioned being cold and hungry in second half, so they left for food and a warmer environment. I really can't blame them for that.

Liberty students don't like football, they like being weird. Football games give them an opportunity to be extra weird, and do it on tv.

We are FCS and not an FCS program that has had any real success. I get annoyed with the student section at times too but I know why they are the way they are. If we ever have any success then things will change some, that is just how it is. This also isn't a Liberty problem it is a problem FBS schools are having too.

Alot of truth here. I have attended several away games over the last few years. Gardner Webb is one who has terrible fan support. And the game experience is about as exciting as a bad high school football game. We have great attendance. We just need to figure out how to get them to stay all four quarters.

Liberty hosts an exciting football experience with lots of "wows". Anytime I bring someone with me to Lynchburg who has never attended a Liberty football game, they leave extremely impressed.

I think we sometimes are a victim of our own success of late...at home, we have had 9 games decided by less than 10 points in the last 8 seasons, with four of them leaving us on the wrong side of the boxscore. The rest of the time, we basically blow people out. People tend to tire of blowouts, especially against lesser quality teams...the overall experience is pretty awesome, but Im looking forward to coming in for homecoming, after pretty much making Liberty games a regular part of my Saturday for 12 years, it was kinda nice to get to experience it as fan away from the stadium the last few games.

I guess my point is i NEVER have seen a returner not even try to catch a ball when it was virtually right at him at the 5 yard line. He never even made an attempt. I looked at Marshall Roberts and he had his hands up like "what are you doing" as Parker came off the field.
