Listen to his car...he is slowed under caution, driving by "slowly"....he sees the guy coming at him and you can hear his rev his engine....trying to either scare him, to say "don't mess with me." Unlikely. The cameraman in this video is near entrance to turn 1. The sound is coming from cars passing immediately in front of the cameraman and decelerating before accelerating through turn 1, not the cars turning past the middle of turn 1 and exiting turn 2. If you look at the layout of the track, the accident happened in the darkest corner of Canandaigua Motorsports Park. Other than the back straightaway, that is the only part of the track that has trees behind it. Considering that the driver was wearing a black fire suit, its possible that Stewart didn't seen him in the shadows until it was too late to avoid him. That's just speculation on my part since I haven't been to that track.
Maybe another video will surface, but this one does not show evidence of any wrongdoing on Stewart's part.
