Missouri St poster just stated on the SB board that the president of the school made a comment today that they've had no contact with the SB and do not have an invite. Basketball remains a priority. No audio or link, but states he'll upload the audio later. That goes to show how much the insiders on the SB board knows. It's either JMU or Liberty.

That falls in line with Benson's comments on Saturday at the Georgia Southern game where he continued to insist that expansion is focused on one team being added in the East. The prevailing sentiment seems to be focused on JMU with us as second option. To be honest, I have had several sources at western schools indicating to me that the only way we get in is for JMU to decline and for us to come in as part of joint deal with MSU.

That guy is crazy. He tried to say that winning was somehow tied to being ready to make the jump to FBS. Balderdash! I could probably site over 1,000 credible posts in this thread that say a winning team means nothing to the Sun Belt.

Benson said last weekend there will be a 12th team by June 1st, it will be all sports and play in the east. But it could all change by tomorrow?

If he broke it I would believe it. Until it comes from the athletic department or Lang I won't believe anything when it comes to LU as far as realignment news.

I don't know why people are mentioning UMass' name as a football-only invite. Right now they're an eastern version of Idaho - 1) they will be an outlier from the other Sun Belt schools, 2) they are not very good in football, 3) they probably have business in FBS and probably need to drop down, and 4) they have a life-line for at least the next 2 years (The last 2 years of Idaho's 4 year deal can be voided).

As far as Liberty being next in line, I have articles from last year (that I saved) that said the same thing. In other words, I've heard this record before. We shall see come May if the Sun Belt is going to "Lucy" us again...
