2= cult following? Surely you jest. No one worth his salt would even consider a real estate mogul a minor concern :D
I'm telling you BSK or LBL, assuming they are not the same person behind two names, one of them is RD. I'm leaning towards BSK because I think there is enough arrogance there to call himself King of the Big South.

I am more interested in this! Bought a championship? Wow, maybe that explains a lot. And incidentally, lbl, you are also taking shots at a coach who brought us a championship, calling for him to be fired.

LBL, if you had a functioning brain and accompanying reading comprehension skills, you would know that the frustration with the board at large (myself included) is very high, especially after getting a championship last season and with six seniors returning too.

Stand corrected for the turn over on the keypad. All 3 Championships are great! But I have never taken a shot at Dale Layer personally, and refused to even answer the question until some unbelievable pathetic home performances. As I said even with this post you try to discredit what was accomplished, I am sure that guys like you are capable of leading the way forward.

By your same logic you were discrediting the other Championships. What is interesting is that yu got called on it and chose to try to turn it around. I double dog dare you to find a single post that tried to discredit any Championship.

Btw- what ever happened to logic? Is he working on the Ron Paul campaign?

Lifer, what happened the years after that championship? Exactly

Lets move onto the future. I will ask again lifer what should we do for FUTURE success. Do so without looking backwards. I will keep asking until you actually answer the question.

He did answer it. He wants to move forward into the FUTURE by bringing back the PAST. Which begs the question: Since he wants the AD fired as well, which past AD would he want to bring back?

Yes this is true but facts never stop LBL. HA. So if his solution to moving forward is looking back which AD would he bring back to move us forward. The list is small. Ha

Truth be told, Al Worthington was given full authority although on a significantly smaller budget back in the day.

Allegedly Al nearly brought in a big name coach to replace Meyer in former 76er Bobby Jones. The NBA All-Star had just retired but things didn't work out in the discussions according to my relatively decent sources back in the Late '80s. This occurred just a year or so before the Hout/Rutigliano transition that had similar circumstances.

Your sources are correct. I lost a lot of respect for him after he cussed at me during a Grand Rapids Baptist hoops game. But I'm over it. Still think he's a swell dude.

I think he went up to Butler for the opportunity to land a bigger gig at some point, and to be closer to home. We miss him, and he is going to be a top-notch HC again someday, sooner than later, but not at LU.

Time to make a change and hire Al Skinner!!! He’s holder of the most wins and was the National Coach of the Year at Boston College, a winner as a college player at UMass; a pro with the (Long Island) Nets. As a head coach led his teams to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen and NIT Quarterfinals (total of 9 NCAA and 3 NIT appearances). But more importantly he’s man of good character, great knowledge of the game, and graduates his student-athletes. Currently he’s an assistant at Bryant Univ., however I’m sure he’ll be scooped up after this season by a AD seeking a solid all around leader and coach that’s not carrying any baggage. If JB presents to him a competitive salary, good dental plan (what’s with those teeth of his) matched with the commitment the school has shown in regards to the facilities, I guarantee that we would finally see real talent on the campus, and a consistent appearance in the NCAA tournament. Play Basketball

I think he or Sutton could be had and both would be great choices. But we may not make a move

Not bad...but I have to ask with him as with anybody, does he buy into Liberty's philosophy and mission statement. He sounds like it would be less of an issue as with Sutton but its something that has to be considered because of who we are.

What are you looking for? The freakin Pope. Do your research on the guys and form an opinion. You can look up the stuff about them to help. Your generic statements are just a bunch of milquetoast crap

Do I want the "freakin Pope"? Well if the Pope could coach basketball and be a living example of successful coach who happens to be a Christian and would be a proper example of not only Liberty University but the Christian faith as well, AND gets us to the Big Dance on a regular basis (not just every 10 years or so)...bring him in.

The point is that its sort of a given that an LU coach has a certain set of rules that other schools don't have. We get it. So just evaluate on the coaching part unless something drastically sticks out
