One name I haven’t seen a lot of places is B.J. Farrow, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound rising senior at Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg.

“Hands down, Farrow is the best we’ve ever had,” LCA coach Frank Rocco said. “This will be my 10th year [at LCA] and in high-school coaching, it’s been 25 years. He’s the best high-school receiver I’ve ever coached.”

Liberty University is the only program that has offered Farrow a scholarship to this point.

“Virginia and Virginia Tech are both very close,” Rocco said. “They won’t pull the trigger. He’s going to be an 11th-hour qualifier, but he’s going to make it.

With 3 wideouts graduating he would be a very solid pickup at that position. The last LCA wide receiver we brought in was a pretty solid one both on and off the field (and I'm partial to the name too hehe)

B.J. Farrow got the first touch for LCA in the Bulldogs’ benefit game at Amherst County on Friday, night, fielding the opening kickoff and returning it to the LCA 49-yard-line.

Then he got the first target, a long pass down the left sideline from quarterback Matt Lewis that ended in a 51-yard touchdown. Farrow was hard to escape. He returned punts. He played free safety on defense.

He punted.

B.J. has a lot of upside as a receiver. He is 6-1 but his ability to win 50-50 balls really will make him an asset as a #2 or #3 receiver. He also has good speed and can stretch a defense. Definitely a good pickup for Coach Gill and the boys keeping him in Lynchburg

I have a feeling we will get a read on Markell Boston by Monday since he is on his Minnesota official visit right now.

Congrats to BJ!

According to link below, B.J. had made his commitment to Liberty the day before he was to meet with UConn assistant coach.

"Another wide receiver, No. 36-rated B.J. Farrow from Liberty Christian in Lynchburg, committed to Liberty University one day before new Connecticut assistant Anthony Poindexter was hoping to make his pitch."
