If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

I expect that the honorable BJWilliams is at the top of any flamefans hierarchy. I expect a complete chart by the end of the day.

For such a BIG job I certainly don't hear a lot of interest being expressed in the position. I guess you could say that the fact that so many schools are giving raises and extensions is in reaction to the opening, but those happen every year. Theoretically money isn't an object, but there at least needs to be a DESIRE to coach there as well. I hear more ridicule about the 8 person committee than I hear about coaches interested. There are more coaches saying they are NOT interested than rumors about who is interested. I have a feeling this is going to be a mess in Austin
Having said that I think Vandy will be looking for a new coach soon

don't worry Sly will explain to you how wrong you are and how amazing the Texas job is and how the rest of the country is just so jealous of the entire state of Texas. We will all roll our eyes and move on.

I spent some time in Austin for work a few years back and while it was a nice place to visit for good brisket, live music, alamo draft house, etc. I would never want to live there. It just seemed like a boring place to live unless you are young and can enjoy the nightlife every night. The whole area itself was just ugly. :-\

Sly, that sounds like a personal attack. Is that BAN worthy?

I don't run the show anymore. But I admit the thought did cross my mind. I am going on the assumption that there was a momentarily lack of judgement.

LOL. Hey, in the end, it's just preference. Obviously there are folks who love the area and Texas in general. Just not for me from what I have seen and if I were a head coach seeking out quality of life, it wouldn't be in my top choices of places to live.

Unless you are looking for nearby snow sports or a beach, I would have a tough time finding anything missing from Austin. But that's just me.

Are you sure you weren't in Boston instead of Austin? Austin is one of the greenest cities in America. The only place where there aren't trees everywhere are in some of the newer suburbs where they clear cut to stuff a zillion homes on small ranches.

Otherwise it sounds like you'd love Anchorage.

I thought this was supposed to be the best gig in all of college football, if not the best job in the whole wide world? I guess that's what I get for drinking the orange Kool-Aid when I thought no one could turn this position down if offered.

No, Saban had his chance back before his coaching was exposed in back-to-back games. Now he is stuck in Tuscaloosa surrounded by Bama Fan.
