The question I have is, what would people think about a game against a team like Hawaii. I was thinking about this from a couple of different angles.

1) If we were to go FBS, how in the first transitional year that game would/could be our "bowl" game

2) trying to schedule them as a future OOC opponent.

thoughts...

As long as it scheduled at least a year or so in advance, it sounds great. The problem for the Chuck Souths of the world is that they were scheduled on somewhat short notice.

It would be like a bowl game experience. Of course, so would a game at UTSA.

We have a timeshare in HI so we'd definitely try to go if we could do the airfare. Any excuse to go back to the islands is a good one.

I have a friend there and I would be happy to share time with him and his family. Let's get it done, Paul.

That's a horrible trip for an east coast team. The only way it can work well is if you have a bye week after.

When did that change? Why did that change? But if you want anything done HE is the person to go to in any case :D

I spoke with Mickey at the Liberty at Montana game last year in 2012. Mickey has been covering scheduling of games at least since the beginning of 2012 season, or longer.

+1 -- I'd also be in for a Liberty vs. Hawaii game in Honolulu. We have timeshare options there, and it is a relatively short flight for us as my wife and I are already in West U.S. Was just in HI this summer for vaca. Might also be good for recruiting.

First, I am for a Liberty vs. any FBS school. Second, a game against Hawaii sounds great! Third, a game against FAU,FIU, Miami, UCF or USF sounds just as beachy and warm but several thousand dollars less expensive and easier to get to.
