Maybe #5 should be 'We ALWAYS play the VICTIM card"

There was like 1 poster kind of hinting at getting rid of Gill, other than that nobody has said we should can him. The general feeling seems to be Gill needs at least 3 to 4 years before we can judge his job performance as a whole. Reading comprehension, its a beautiful thing. I guess we all read into things what we want to see at times.

GW and CSU are phony "good" teams. I'm not trying to take anything away from the win, it was solid, but it will not get many responses from the majority of people. We had our chances, but let them slip through our fingers.Agreed, actually we should win the BSC almost every year without exception. CCU is a good FCS team, but no way a top 10 team. They have beaten only a couple of decent FCS teams, and we had them beat, until we choked it up. Their defense is obviously suspect, QB is very average and they have a great RB. Once the playoffs start, we will see they are very average. I don't believe they could beat any of the teams we lost to, with the exception of maybe Richmond. I believe they would easily lose to JMU, W&M, Towson, Montana, EW, Delaware, Maine, YSU, Northern Iowa and several others. (if you don't think the rankings are totally laughable, Chuck South is ranked 25th). We had the perfect offensive game plan, and just didn't execute when it counted.
All that being said, the guys played a very good game today. I was impressed with their ability to put last week behind them and play an excellent defensive game. Now if we can get Woodrum to throw those long passes with just a little bit of accuracy.

Purple Haize wrote:So what you are saying is you can't actually find anyone saying that Gill should be fired and are hoping to deflect the discussion somewhere else. Well done Jay CarneyDiscontent and questioning whether Gill is right for the job is close enough for me. The level of discontent and handwringing on here is worse than normal. Comparing me to Jay Carney is stupid, but I'm realizing this might be par for the course when you disagree with someone.
rogers3 wrote:'Close enough'? Really? So you make a claim that people want Coach Gill fired. You get challenged to back it up with facts but can't so you try to change the subject. When you get called on THAT you move the goal post and redefine what what people actually said, then try to shift the focus on the person asking the question as opposed to the question itself. Pretty much what the White House Press secretary does daily.Purple Haize wrote:So what you are saying is you can't actually find anyone saying that Gill should be fired and are hoping to deflect the discussion somewhere else. Purple Haize wrote:Perception is often reality. If there was no question that Gill is the right man, why is there a thread that asks otherwise? Maybe you can't see the same things, since you seem to be one of the people somewhat discontented (no more moral victories) with the path that LU is on. As much as you want to make this personal, I will not take that path. I've been around the system longer than you and have seen this play out in other areas. I don't need to defend myself, and if you need to think of me as Jay Carney, and it makes you feel better, that's fine.rogers3 wrote:'Close enough'? Really? So, one more time Mr Carney, ' We know there is discontent with some aspects of the program, but you stated that 'some folks' think 'Gill is the wrong man'. Would you tell us who those people are that have said that?
