This past week while on business in Ohio, I dropped by the Kent State campus and checked out the upgraded Dix Stadium. My parents used to live near the stadium and I used to joke about it being a tinker-toy. But they have invested in the facility in recent years and it is now a legitimate MAC stadium. Here's the entrance as you walk up from the main parking lot:
Once you pass through the gates, you can walk through the tunnels into the stadium on the home side of the field. You get your first look at the FieldTurf surface and the bleachers behind the visitors sideline that were constructed a decade ago. That's where the KSU student section sets up shop similar to our students at Williams Stadium.
When you look toward the right, you see the videoboard and the cool plaza that has some tributes to former KSU players.
When you turn to your left, you can see the enclosed end of the stadium with the fieldhouse behind it.
