Since neither Marshall nor WVU are in the South, I think the more appropriate terms are hillbillies (WVU) and hicks (Marshall). Either way, in West Virginia, its all relative.

West Virginia continues to this day to be the legitimate government of Virginia. Lincoln said as much.

At the risk if driving this further off course, West Virginia is really just part of Virginia that was stolen from us during the invasion. It may be "Northern State", but it definitely isn't in actuality.

They left of their own accord, except for three northeastern counties along the Potomac River. Glad they did, saved us the trouble of kicking them out or the embarrasment of having to claim them.

Huntington is definitely BELOW the Mason-Dixon Line, and Stonewall Jackson was born in Clarksburg, which is now West Virginia!

Wow. That's tough. I went to WVU for the football game and sat in the LU section. But stayed at the cabin of a WVU Dean. I wore blue so I was safe either way. My peeps up there consider me an LU guy.
I wore a WVU shirt and a Red hat to the baseball game this year.
Really, I'm torn.
I would root for LU over WVU in soccer and Olympic sports! As for Football and MBB ill claim neutrality.
Now if we could just put in a people mover........

Oh, and I am from 'Up North' so I was pulling for WVU over Lynchburg in the 1860's

That's a grenade. Here's what I've concluded. NO poster on this board has any inside info. After 130 pages I've not read one post that would lead me to believe otherwise. On a side note I wrote Barber an email and asked if he could make a statement as to where we stand with the Sunbelt. Not a word.
