A Thursday night game in August is usually a nationally televised NCAA launch for ESPN, right?

No, it will probably be a MAC Network/ESPN 3 game. Even FSN might get it. ESPN never does FCS games. Only exception I can think of was Georgia State v. Alabama a few years ago.

Who has left team ?

ballcoach, before I say anything I am not attacking you and any inference to that effect is on your part and not through the comments to follow...

A simple perusal of the 2012 roster followed by a comparative perusal of the 2013 roster shows the following:

Not on 2013 spring roster (outside of graduation):

Darec Brooks DB
Andrew Cordasco TE
Kendrick Couamin RB (his brother converted to running back)
Dashawn Goodwin DB
Chase Griffiths LB (though he may be graduating)
Terrell Hackney WR
Brian Hudson (transferred to Campbell, read story here )
Nico Johnson WR
Grant Jones OL
Brennan Landis K/P
Nick Martin LB/FB (I think his dad posted that he is graduating early)
Andre Mondor OL (injury)
Matt Stokes DL

Checking with our good friends from Flames Nation also yields that Ryan McCarter, Nicky Fualaau, and Jaquan Glover are sitting out spring practice, and Malcolm Boyd has been limited due to recovery from his leg injury last year. Im sure that they will have another update before Saturday, but the information is there, you just have to look for it.

Spring Game - Defensive Stats

An interception by Scott Hyland on the first scrimmage play of Liberty's 2013 spring football game set the tone for a defensively controlled practice, Saturday afternoon.
During the first portion of Liberty's annual spring football event, Liberty ran a series of drills in front of the Williams Stadium crowd before the offense and defense was sent to the opposite side of the field to begin the second half of practice.

Did anybody else watch the game and think that javan could possibly push josh for the starting job somewhere down the road. Josh played slightly better and has better size but i was very impressed with javan. Both guys threw a good deep ball as well. Receivers looked good on the 20 yard and under routes. Need some timing work on the deep balls though. Shells henderson and peterson all look good

I would be shocked if we have a QB position battle. This position, more than any other, needs consistency. A QB is the leader of your offense. Woodrum is a solid QB and the returning starter. It would be a very bad idea to give the job to Shashaty. His time will come.

I dont think he is suggesting that Shashaty will get the job, but that he will push him which I think can help Josh get even better. Not to mention, having a very capable backup can only help as well.

Exactly bj, depth is a good thing. My point was that they both played well and we should hope that javan pushes josh to continue to keep getting better. If youve read my posts ive been a big woodrum advocate since mb graduated

Right now we only have two guys playing QB who will be eligible this fall. Obviously Gabe could slide back over in a pinch. I just hope we don't have to burn Stephon's redshirt this fall. But he may be so athletic that it warrants him getting on the field somewhere right away.

Benedetto cant play because of transfer rules panther. Masha CAN play, but Sly's right in that we would rather Masha not play at this point unless he is SO good that he cant be kept out of the plans for the offense. If Gabe can work some of the kinks out, he can make a viable "wildcat quarterback" option

Unless we can find a "wiggle" guy our WR situation is gonna be the same as last year. this would be my set

Gabe "Newbie" Apon Peterson
Shells "Newbie" Gags Faison

If a Newbie has to be on the outside to run someone off so that Gabe can work the middle along with Apon, I think we could be on to something. Hopefully don't have to go through another season of a team full of possession receiver

Well im sure that the battle will be for the #2 spot with the Campbell transfer automatically having to sit, then you have the incoming frosh Masha going against RS Frosh Shashaty. But I am sure that all three will dress

I would like to have 4 QBs as much as the next but with Hudson following Minter to Campbell, we have to make the best of what we can. Itd be great to get word of a QB transfer to allow us more flexibility with Masha, but you cant bank on transfers every year (like our friends at Delaware or even up the road at JMU)
