well. JMU just hired Bill Carr sports to do their study and that takes months so. can't imagine just hiring a firm to only get accepted a week later, makes no sense but you never know with these things. WAC rumors earlier last year were getting legs before it got slashed. it changes on a dime.

I believe June 1st is the deadline for any FCS school to declare its FBS intentions. I remember from when the WAC east was trying to grow legs and that particular date was mentioned over and over again.

As I say that, I believe that JMU's statement about hiring Carr consulting company was just the opportunity they needed to prolong the situation. Could the Sun Belt possibly wait for JMU? I don't know, but the "writing on the wall" tweet had me thinking not necessarily about the Sun Belt, but that JMU finally sees that the CAA is not so warm and fuzzy.

I tell you what. If by a slim chance JMU slips past Liberty for WKU's spot, I would hope that Liberty applies for the CAA again to gain admission. Why? The Virginian "road blocks" (ODU, GMU, VCU, and JMU) would be all gone and our Olympic sports need more competition. Of course this is only my 'worst-case scenario' solution.

According to Brent Thibodeaux, who does the Bobcat Report (Texas State) and apparently tracks Sun Belt news and rumors, there will be two invites, of which JMU is expected to be one. He didn't mention who the other one was, but we could speculate that they're not naming the second school because it's us Hey, why not? Hope springs eternal, after all!

We were jumped again! Idaho and New Mexico State to Sun Belt for football only in 2014.

I'm still not sure how a school that 3 months ago had no aspirations of jumping up b/c they couldnt afford it (and supposedly hadn't even really considered doing so) gets and accepts an invitation.

meanwhile, we are paying consultants out the wazoo and have been "FBS READY" for a year, with our own TV network, and no one cares.

money well spent.

We all know why we havn't received an invite, and lets take those LU glasses and we will all see why.

JMU has been hush hush the whole time about their FBS aspirations, they didn't public say " We don't have enough money or not interested". They were playing a behind the scenes cerebral strategy. Bottom line, were not wanted, plain and simple. I'll be the pessimist til were invited, until then, I know why we're so low on they list or maybe not even on it.
