holy crap. major props to layer and co. Coastal is terrible on the road and great at home and they pulled what i thought was the unthinkable.

now they get a hpu team with no john brown. they could go and make a run

Congrats on your fine win this evening. This should serve as a big eye opener to the teams with byes today to not be complacent. Seeing both UNCA and Coastal not just lose, but get throttled, had better make the top four realize they can't just show up and win.

Liberty vs. GW Saturday afternoon? Sounds good to me.

Oh, and if CSU loses before Sunday, that final with 1,000 in attendance if they are lucky will really once again show KK's brilliance on national television.

Do they have Press Row setup on the side of the benches, or are you going to be over by Matt Hogue? I'l;l try to stop by during warm-ups before the CCU/LU game.

Press row across from the Liberty Bench. Come say hello at half time.

Dangit. If I'm at your guys next game, I'll stop by!

Man I was over near our radio crew about 6 people in between us. Come on over on Thursday. I'm going to enjoy Myrtle Beach tomorrow and come back to the arena on Thursday.

Man am I sorry I missed this live. I was stuck out in the boonies on a suger plantation with no 3g signal.

I really don´t get why almost everyone here is so shocked that we beat a team again that we beat earlier in the year when we were playing much worse than we are now. Yeah, I get the home court thing, but those of us who remember hosting this thing in the 90s can tell you it´s not all it´s cracked up to be. There is a lot of pressure on the home team to advance for attendance and other reasons and they have the normal distractions of home while the other teams are cloistered like invading armies in their hotels, with probably a few planned excursions (in this case to see what makes MB a tourist attraction).

Davon Marshall has some history stepping up at tournament time. He was lights out in leading his team on a run in the JUCO tourney last year. Hope he can keep it up!

Gielo is really talented, but seems to be a bit fragile both physically and mentally. He can be pushed around, and if he misses his first couple of shots it seems like he almost checks out for the night. When he makes one or 2 early (especially from 3), he plays with much more confidence. Having a 6´9 guy who can stretch the defense certainly is an asset for us.

JC continues to evolve into our leader on the floor. He had an off night shooting, but chipped in with 5 rebounds and 5 assists with only 1 turnover.

We certainly can beat a HP team without their FOY and first team all conference Brown, but don´t forget that Cory Law was a starter for over 2 years there before getting ¨recruited over¨. He is an excellent rebounder and shot blocker, and has also hurt us inside in the past.

Oldflame you live an interesting life. Great perspective on the matchup too. I said on the radio that I thought Liberty could win the game on offense because the 1st matchup they held Raffa in check but wouldn't be able to do that down here in Myrtle.

However I thought the crowd energy would spur the Chants to a win last night late game by a few points when asked yesterday afternoon. By the evening it was feeling like the Flames would win. I was on the floor talking to coach Olinger and he told me that the plan was to survive the intial punch of energy they would get out of the gate, settle in, and start to hoop! They did just that. Lots of energy from Gielo. He is the key to me. When he is engaged and scoring and asertive and not pouting, he is very good and Liberty is a better team.

After the Longwood game when Marshall scored 29 second half points, Longwood coach Mike Gillian told me he was all too familiar with Davon from watching him go on shooting sprees in JUCO last season. It appears the little guy comes up big time and time again in these situations. He was special last night and overflowing with confidence!!!!

What a night!

Best performance of the season by Flames. I recall posting something a couple weeks ago about we are at our best when Marshall is hitting 3s. Shooting 3s is better than draining shot clock trying to get ball inside. Heck, we may win the thing now.

I like all games at one venue instead of the higher seed host crap that was used in the past. Good move on part of BSC

You should have watched Longwood vs Asheville called brilliantly by Campbell Radio PBP Announcer Chris Haymer and humbly supported by Liberty's own Tim Scarborough. It was a fun game to call and boy did Longwood play well! I am going to call at least one more game tomorrow but I haven't decided which one yet. I don't want to do the Liberty game though because I want to watch and not have to think.

This is great having the tournament all in one place. I am looking forward to seeing the Lady Flames too. Not sure how much Gym time I will log today with the women's tourney though. I may catch the late game that Coastal is in.

It's KK's love with PPV that keeps it from being there.
