Cue Rooster and BJ :I chortle audibly.:
You forgot me!
Man am I sorry I missed this live. I was stuck out in the boonies on a suger plantation with no 3g signal.
I really don´t get why almost everyone here is so shocked that we beat a team again that we beat earlier in the year when we were playing much worse than we are now. Yeah, I get the home court thing, but those of us who remember hosting this thing in the 90s can tell you it´s not all it´s cracked up to be. There is a lot of pressure on the home team to advance for attendance and other reasons and they have the normal distractions of home while the other teams are cloistered like invading armies in their hotels, with probably a few planned excursions (in this case to see what makes MB a tourist attraction).
Davon Marshall has some history stepping up at tournament time. He was lights out in leading his team on a run in the JUCO tourney last year. Hope he can keep it up!
Gielo is really talented, but seems to be a bit fragile both physically and mentally. He can be pushed around, and if he misses his first couple of shots it seems like he almost checks out for the night. When he makes one or 2 early (especially from 3), he plays with much more confidence. Having a 6´9 guy who can stretch the defense certainly is an asset for us.
JC continues to evolve into our leader on the floor. He had an off night shooting, but chipped in with 5 rebounds and 5 assists with only 1 turnover.
We certainly can beat a HP team without their FOY and first team all conference Brown, but don´t forget that Cory Law was a starter for over 2 years there before getting ¨recruited over¨. He is an excellent rebounder and shot blocker, and has also hurt us inside in the past.
