If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

Wouldn't be the first time I've been accused of Liberty blasphemy. Such is one of the perils of a broad, balanced and objective perspective on collegiate athletic administration.

Guess the ties that bind JB to Liberty won out over the ties that bind him to ECU

I agree and I'm pleased that he is still on campus. There is no doubt in my mind that if JB ever decided to take another position, the school would find a solid replacement. He has been a part of the rapid expansion of the sports program and it is nice to have the continuity.

Unlike PAMedic, my opinion may not be important as I have not had the privilege of having JB travel to my state to sit down for a little visit.

IMO, I think JB is going to stay until he sees Liberty in a FBS conference. He knew how important it was for JF for Liberty to play with the big boys. He also knows how much it would mean for JFJR and the rest of the Liberty family to see JF's vision come to pass in this day and age. I personally think those factors are persuading him to stay and finish things out.

A lot of theorizing as to why JB is staying. My theory is that based soley on the number of qualified candidates whos names were out there, there is at least a 75% chance he never had to decide. I will say that with this one in the books the list of jobs he might actually have a chance of being offered which he would consider taking is probably VERY short. I agree he has done good work here, but I doubt if any SEC or Big 10 schools will be knocking on his door anytime soon.

My feeling is (after talking to someone with knowledge of the situation) that he was probably in the top 2 for the job but with the "unfinished business" he had here (and I agree with Blessed1 that getting us to an FBS conference is part of it), and as such, when he was offered the job (and according to the person I talked to, he was offered) he declined it.
