Too bad this wasn't 3 days ago it would have been post of the year. It is the front leader for 2013!

Coaches often act like kings of their kingdom. Sometimes want to make everything their way because it irks them everything is the way the predecessor chose to make it. Just my guess here.

there was some functional problems with the previous set up. mainly the way if you opened up the doors you could see into the whole locker room and thats not good since there are ladies in that hall way after games. they put up a temp wall to block it when i was there but it didn't exactly look good. so i'm guessing they will make it look better. AND i'm assuming we will be getting some nicer lockers. ours were ok but not the greatest product out there.

You guys are missing one.

Could it be that we need more lockers if we're going FBS? FBS rosters are usually a little bigger, and maybe the FOC was initially built with less lockers than a full FBS roster?

True, But wouldn't it make sense to make internal construction changes that would be necessary no matter what conference we entered? While it is necesarry to add more seating and expand the stadium etc. it would make no sense to jump the gun before we know what Mega Beast BCS conference that we may join (low end may only need 30K the 1st year but in how short of a period will the number need to be increased? And that can only be answered once we have a place for our homeless FBS bound weary souls). Ha Dreaming big ......

over 110. you forget guys that most big FCS teams carry upwards of 115 players in their locker rooms because of scout team players. they are just getting nicer lockers with a better layout.

I was at South Carolina last year for a show at their stadium's The Zone venue and the only people I saw practicing in the actually stadium were the kickers. Punters and kickers. I was there two days and both days they came in and kicked for about an hour. The rest of the team was across the street on what appeared to be two or three practice fields. I believe their stadium was natural grass so maybe that played a role.

I've also been to App State a few times for a football camp for my son and they only have one large indoor facility for practice so I'd have to believe they also practice in their stadium as well. The indoor field is probably 60 yrds so I can't believe they'd get the entire team in there for practice. Maybe they do. Both are artifical turf.

It just doesn't make any sense is all. It might have used to back when you didn't want to tear up your game day grass. But the purpose of fieldturf is that it doesn't tear up. I know that's how it's done, FBS ready, it's expected, yadda yadda, it's just a waste of money and space to not have some part of the team practicing on it in favor for a brand new practice field.

I think it is a simple matter that LU wants to be viewed as upward bound. Therefore, if the football team is only so-so and the basketball team SUCKS, we cant show progress in terms of championships or playoff appearances...so we will show progress through facilities. If the teams would just WIN...we wouldnt have to spend so much $$$$

Facilities have a lot more to do with moving up than a win/loss record. Therefore, if your football team is only so-so but you have great facilities, people walk away saying that the University is committed to this. If you have a good football team and crappy facilities, people walk away saying their football team is good but just how committed are they if they aren't going to put the resources into the program?
Now, if the team wins AND you have great facilities.....

I'm saying that if we would have made the playoffs 2 years ago.......went to the semi-finals last year.....and won the championship this year.........we would have plenty to "talk" about and no one would be concerned with redoing locker rooms that are already adequate, etc.....

LU always needs something to talk about....so if it's not in actual success....they're are gonna spend money developing something ....period ! Regardless if it needs it or not... It is the perception of improvement.... ALWAYS

PH has a point though. the two go hand in hand. If you have on field success but your facilities are, for lack of a better word, crap, the perception is negative, but if you have the best facilities and the team is, again, crap, the perception is again, negative. you have to find that happy medium in between the two

lets just say we get an invite into ------conference, how long would the anticipated construction on the phase 2 portion be, before completed. Are we talking like a 6 month project, yr how long?
