As it is Christmas day once again (and the Mayans like everyone else before were proven gloriously incorrect in their prediction of the end of the world), Its time for the annual discussion of what everybody found under the tree for them this year. I already got my first couple gifts from my wife before we headed to my parents house last Thursday and that was cologne and the first season of Big Bang Theory on DVD. Also got

Cookbook- "No More Takeout"
Book- "What To Expect When Youre Wife is Expanding" (Humorous parody of the best seller "What To Expect When Youre Expecting"
New Wallet
New Razor
Ties and handkerchiefs so I can broadcast in style when I get the chance to
Two bottles of cologne

For both me and the wife

A wide assortment of baby gear
baby book
memory book from my mom which she will fill in

my present was not under a tree, it was the ability to spend Christmas at home with family. This is the first time I was able to spend christmas home in 7 years.

Well, after CajunFlame's gift, we're all gonna sound like a bunch of pansies ( ;) ), but here goes:

19" flatscreen DVD combo for the kitchen
New putter (since the PGA has made my extra-long putter illegal)
New wok set (actually on the way, since the kitchen store closed)

With all due respect to Cajun Flame, I think I can do him one better: this Christmas I have a cancer-free Mrs. Cider!

And as far as material presents go, Mrs. Cider came down with a bad cold on Christmas Eve, which is our traditional day to go Christmas shopping together, so instead we are going to hit up the stores tomorrow for all their after-Christmas sales.

Great to hear Dr. Nutter. SJ, is that 6th gift for her or you ? :)

I got a pair of Sennheiser Bluetooth headphones for my audio work (great for live sound mixing),Vizio soundbar for my plasma, a digital picture frame for my office at Liberty, a new Kenneth Cole wallet and grooming set, Otterbox for my iPad, and a Liberty Turvis tumbler. Most of all we got to celebrate Christmas as a family this year. Missed our parents but not the running around or gas fill ups.

The wife and I 'gave' each other an ASUS laptop a few weeks back. Outside of that a couple of ties and sweaters, and a new Braun razor (replacing the same model I had been using since my last year at GW, 1993!, just couldn't find heads for it anymore).

Plenty of good vittles today as well, topped off by my mother-in-law top shelf sweet potato pie.

Of course, as mentioned by many above, the Lord blesses me, my wife, and extended family way too much than we ever deserve.

This year, I'm spending the winter with the family in a small village in the mountains of Costa Rica. The kids each got a couple of small gifts, but nothing super exciting. My wife and I are going to go to the city tomorrow to watch the Hobbit with some local friends as our gift to each other. This year, our family gift has been time with each other. It's more valuable than anything that I could have purchased.

Funny quote from last night - We went to a Christmas Eve dinner with some new friends and took a Happy Birthday Jesus (Feliz Cumpleaños Jesucristo) cake to share. This is not part of the local Catholic tradition, but is a family tradition. When the hosts served it, they mentioned that it was a cake to celebrate Jesus' birthday, and one of the adults replied, "Which Jesus?"

My parents obviously like to spoil me and my brother some now, it's their way of making up for not being able to provide much in the way of presents.
