Let me ask this: If you are biologically/anatomically a male, yet mentally always "feel" like a woman (no Shania Twain references intended), can that be classified as a sort of mental illness? It is in fact recognized as a mental illness. In the DSM-IV, which is the guide used by MH professionals to define and name disorders, it is known as Gender Identy Disorder (GID) or Gender Dysphoria (Dysphoria is similar to depression). Specific criteria need to be met to "qualify" for this diagnosis.

People are disabled because they have a disorder, but having a disorder does not make you disabled. However, I did deny them.
As you know well ATrain, having a disorder and being disabled are totally separate issues. In fact, the person we are discussing has a full-time job in addition to attending college and playing ball.
