This. And most of it doesn't come from the administration anymore. Take a step back and read some of the comments here or on the sun belt board posted by LU folks. Objectively I see why folks dislike us. We are the "older brother" from Luke 15 and most of the time we can't even see it. We stereotype, call names, and cry about fairness while looking down our noses at them from the moral high ground. In short we are often not very Christlike yet we hide behind the "they hated Him, they will hate us" line. Reality check: it was the moral and religious elite that hated Him. ie. a lot of us.

Want to know why they dislike us? Take a good long look in the mirror. I know I am. Fair warning: It's ugly. /rant

I feel like I've stumbled upon the dailykos here. The Sunbelt is at 8 members. That's 1 away from having to disband the football league. There's top down raiding coming. We're one of MAYBE 4 teams that can actually be in their conference. Do you honestly think our beef with city counsel or facebook editing, etc. will cause the rest of the SBC to decide to just let football die? I think you guys are letting your personal problems with the way the school does thing interfere with the practicality of the situation.

Georgia Southern has received student approval to add an athletics fee if the school makes a move to FBS in the next year. That will allow them to make the move if offered.

My understanding is the stadium expansion and FOC are being funded outside of the student fee.

So. is not ready YET, they will be soon but they have to build and they have to raise money. JMU.. not ready, Admin doesnt know what they want. The only two eastern FCS schools ready to go today are App and Liberty. I am feeling pretty good right now. We won't hear of anything for weeks though i bet.

The definition of ready will make a difference. Georgia Southern is proactively making changes and wanting to make a move to FBS. The Sun Belt Conference may seem them as ready to begin the transition, knowing that they have time to put things in place.

Nothing is a sure thing for us until we have an invitation, accept and have been officially added to a conference.

That doesn't worry me. That seems more like speculation than anything news worthy. Benson in audio today said he wasn't naming schools yet. Also, NMSU and Idaho are way out of their footprint and Benson claimed today that they would consider 'slightly' expanding the footprint not overhauling it
