Last I heard as well the stadium expansion won't be happening this year. Didn't seem like it was a secret either because a group of people were being told this from those that would know. However as you all well know this could change in a moments notice

but... hmo just said this WASN'T happening this year... so gillshill is right.

we should not expand the student side until we have at least 2,000 more students living on campus.

I was surprised that without a conference invitation that we would be pushing forward this offseason. We certainly have our fair share of construction projects already underway on campus including just across the parking lot.

I wouldnt be disappointed at all. Its no secret we have the money to build it tonight if we wanted, but holding off simply means that Liberty is doing or already has done their due diligence in making sure that it will be a sustainable addition to the program. This is a good thing...far better than the alternative and just frivolously spending money because we have it and dont put the time and planning into making sure it can be successful.

1. No room for them (yet)
2. Trying to raise average freshman academic marks
3. Need to plan scholarship dollars for 8,000 more kids...Champion, Pastor, etc.
I always find this proposition strange (Number 1 that is). I am an RA and every year we have multiple open beds on the dorm. My dorm is not the only one either. We are not full by any means. If more students wanted to come, there is room.

Interesting. Is there any possibility that it's more an issue of classroom space?

Open beds in my dorm as well....Actually they're tearing down four dorms after this semester and all those students have places to be placed throughout campus.

We did. According to my understanding, the students in Dorms 1-4 have been given the first-choice option on the open beds physically on-campus vs. being shipped to the new annex. I assume this is to avoid the outcry of the students & parents who selected Dorms 1-4 back in the Fall for their proximity to Vines and DeMoss only to be forced to move to the Quality Inn, which is a smart move in my opinion.

If people had REAL faith, we would be working on a stadium with a retractable dome that seats 100,000...
Or, we could realize that growth is coming, but it needs to be done responsibly.

Will construction begin this year? What date will it begin? Is it a definite move? With the conference realignment moves heating up before the bowl/playoff season, there will be more movement in the next 6 months. Let's build.

The CAA Board had referenced a "Bubble" practice facility that is being planned by Liberty for Football - Flames Nation picked up on it and highlighted the comments which apparently came from our SIDs. Curious if this is real. Has anyone else heard about such plans? Will this be incorporated next to the baseball stadium or will the location change?
