If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

if you have not seen it, coach knight popped a player under the chin to make him look at him while he was talking to him. i think this has been blown way out of proportion. if this was not the general, im sure nothing would be said. the player and the parents even said it was no big deal. just way too many PC people these days.

Nope, I agree with a lot of what he does...and if I dropped the ball (no pun intended) then come off the court and cant even look him in the eyes while he's correcting me...I deserve whatever I get

The kid dropped his head and wasn't looking Coach in the eyes. Coach simply nudged the kid to pay attention. ESPN is making a huge deal out of nothing. Nothing should be done.

If you go to Texas Tech and commit to playing for Bobby Knight, you have to know what you're getting into. It's not secret anymore. If you can't take it, don't commit. I realize it's some of these players only chance at college but IMO, if you're good enough to play for Texas Tech, you're probably going to have a few other options.

The guy is a discplinarian. He didn't punch him, he didn't throw anything at him, he tapped him underneath the chin to get his attention.

I agree with what one of the guys on Mike and Mike said this morning:

If these kids' parents would do it when they were young, Bobby Knight wouldn't have to do it when they get to college.

The kdis parents were cool with the action (as was the kid).

That would be Gene Keady who said that about the player's parents. What exactly did he do wrong? I love the egg heads who say "Well, if I can't do that to a kid in my class". That is such a red herring. A gym and a classroom are two different learning environments with different objectives. By using words such as "struck" "Hit" "popped" makes it seem like it was a nice hook shot. Having seen it and having heard ESPN et al's description of it were two different things. Add to that splicing in all of his other rants over the 30 + years of his career doesn't help.
Here is a trivia quesiton, who has the LEAST number of technical fouls over the last 4 years in the Big XII. Just checking.

I love Bobby Knight. If I had a kid I'd love for them to play under him. There is absolutely no difference in what he did and a coach grabbing a facemask or hitting a player in the back of the helmet.
