Politics in America divides the entire country in half these days. It's by design?

im not a liberal or anything like that but Liberty politics are so annoying, they sure know how to divide students apart.

There are Christian liberals out there, even among the student body, and there is no reason to alienate them and demonize their beliefs.

It was like that since before you chose it.Yes that is true, but the political angle it takes has gotten old and its time to get out of the political arena. God is not a Republican, nor a Democrat, nor any other political party in the world. It's time to stop demonizing those that have leanings towards the left or any other side then the right, its okay, the world won't end because two political parties disagree as to how to move forward. There are things that are wrong in both parties, and just because your affiliated with one or the other does not mean that you are any less of a Christian. That also means that people don't always believe every part of their parties platform. All I'm trying to say is that Liberty University is a great school and I am proud that it holds firm to its Christian roots. I do believe however it is time to stop talking politics and focus on what we are actually here to do: glorify God and train Champions for Christ.

I too wish that churches would get further away from the harshness they have toward the sin of homosexuality. When they talk about sin, I'd rather them spend more time talking about the sins that affect so many in their congregation (i.e. gluttony, gossip, eliteness/pride). Lecturing homosexuals on marriage seems a bit petty when most churches are north of 50% when looking at their congregation and who has been divorced.
By the way.....how much do you think it cost Liberty to bring Trump to convocation?? I'm guessing north of $25,000.
