If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

The only other AL manager in the conversation should be Bob Melvin, but I'd give it to Buck for pulling it off in the tougher division.

Machado's play was even better than the backhand flip pickoff that Votto and Phillips pulled off earlier this week. Just a phenomenal play. Legitimately something you can call a once in a lifetime play.

BTW, where did you guys dig up Nate Mclouth from and how did he suddenly remember how to play after two pretty awful seasons?

McLouth was released by the Pirates on May 31 (.140); signed by the Orioles on June 5 (.279).

Another one-run win! I spent most of the afternoon watching the game but had to leave for a commitment with two out and nobody on in the 14th. If only I could have hung on a couple more minutes.... Oh well, great to hear the outcome even though I missed it.

I love seeing the title of this thread. As a Baltimore native and long suffering fan I smile every time I see it. That is all. :)

I thought this would be the Pirates year as well, but they have stunk it up big time the last month and are right around .500 now. I guess I need to start a thread called "Pirates Stink".

But the Pirates didn't lose to a community college. The Orioles did

Hey, it worked for the O's! It might be worth a try.

They did a couple years ago. Maybe last year.

Been a fan forever, Jim. I bounced from the DC area before the Nats ever showed, so my allegiance stuck.

Oh, and Red's did have the game. Didn't even have to ask for it. Was on when I walked in. Apparently they fancy themselves the baseball bar in Missoula.

I poked my head in Red's along with SumItUp. If I would have known you were in there ...

Ha. I was right up at the bar. Started to get crazy with all of the college kids piling in late, but I managed to snare a great spot before they got in.

Tried to stay up last night until the finish but I crashed in the 12th at about 1:45 a.m. O's win in 18 in a game that ended around 4. Dylan Bundy on his way to Seattle today. The kid got his wish. He wanted to be in the bigs before he was 20. I'd be stunned if he doesn't get an inning tonight.

Fifteenth straight extra-inning victory last night for the O's. It's the longest such streak since the Indians won 19 straight in 1949.

I stayed up and watched the whole game, but the Yankees still gained a half game on us because they swept a double header.

Yanks get Oakland this weekend ... probably their best chance to drop a few. Neither team has a tough schedule from here on out. Baltimore gets six with Boston, four with Toronto and three with Tampa, who is fading fast.

Yankees finish with one vs. TOR, three vs. OAK, three at MIN, four at TOR, three vs. BOS.

That's 16 straight extra inning game wins. 3 short of the Indians 19 in 1949. I have no idea how the O's are doing it, but it's fun to watch.
