Turnovers killed us. I thought Woodrum did well throwing it down the field. It felt like we threw 100 screen passes.

Ugh. I hope the team isn't degenerating back into the sloppiness it had under Rocco, but it's been a step down each week under Gill. We really need an improved OL to compete with the top teams out there.

Woodrum looked good in what was a very difficult situation. Fogg is hit or miss and today was a lot of miss in the return game. The D deserves better than the result they got today.

I'm not a fan of moral victories, but I think we're improving. Woodrum threw for over 330 yards, which is encouraging.

Until we learn to stop making stupid mistakes through turnovers, however, we're going nowhere.

But, I do feel better than last week.

Two plays killed us ... the punt return and the long run by Moore. Had to play catch up the rest of the way. Lets get'em next week!

Other than the stupid decision to field the ball inside the 10 on the punt, I thought Fogg played very well again. He is becoming a real force on D as well. And I agree that Woodrum played very well. Tough situation and a monster front 7 from the D made life difficult for him and he hung in there and made some great throws. I was impressed.

Sly got some face time on the screen, but he had his head down, probably playing with his Blackberry or his Smartphone.

Best part of the game? Seeing Montana circle up and PRAY after the game!

Overall, I was surprised and impressed with Woodrum as a freshman QB.

I still think this team can win every game between next week and SB. And if they improve and quit making the mistakes that they are making now, it's late in the season, who knows that happens.

good.Woodrum.. should start next week. Same with the Defense. I think they only had 2 drives before the ending.

bad. the corny commercials :banghead. FSN crew. oLine. special teams.

I think Montana is the best tackling team i've seen in a while. they don't miss open field tackles

While it was frustrating watching us get down 24-0 it was more frustrating on how we got there. We seem to shoot ourselves in the foot. Woodrum looked composed and was fairly accurate throughout the game. We miss Malcom Boyd on the O-line and may depend on screens and flares due to lack of a running game.

Our defense has been solid so far this season but we need to create some turnovers to give the offense some help and better field position. Our offense is without any game breakers. Our special teams has hurt us along with the turnovers. I still like our team. We're on the cusp of good stuff here. I believe we will beat Lehigh next week and begin a run in the BSC. This schedule has prepared us for the conference (and beyond).

I agree with this assessment. Seeing how Brian and Josh have both played, I can see why Coach Gill took his decision to name a starter right up to the day before the WF game as both of them have shown extremely well in game action. I will add though that football is very much a rhythm game and to see drives killed by bringing in the "wildcat" package with Gabe was very frustrating.

I mentioned this in the game thread but the screen game, when used EFFECTIVELY can serve as the run game for a team. When you run it just to run it, teams can adjust to it much easier.

We did well today. Losing Malcolm last week certainly hurt because he was I think the linchpin of that group, but someone is going to have to step up and take the lead in his absence.

We had an entire summer to prepare for WF and they didn't know how to prepare for us. That got us all feeling better about this offense than we should have. These first 4 games were going to be TOUGH no matter who the coach is. This is by far the toughest OOC schedule we've played since we've been "good". Maybe that shows you just what an illusion it was. Or maybe we wasted our most talented teams on creaming crappy teams by 50 points instead of playing real competition. I think it's probably the latter. Either way, this is the team we have this year, and they just don't have the experience to stay in these first 4 games. I just hope it's not killing their psyche and they can put the pieces back together for the conference schedule.

At what point are we accountable for where we are at? We need a bigger budget? We need better facilities? Let's get back to beating VMI and CSU so we can hear about the great progress we are making under JB Athletics.

I was referring to the fact that Tilley has never heard of it... nor knows what the correct name is.

But I'm sure it'll never be corrected and he'll keep repeating it for the rest of the season....

woodrum played well other than the INT and that is expected from a guy making his first start. He should start next week. AA looked very slow today and our OL is really struggling. I did not like the gabe at QB situation early. woodrum was moving the team and when gabe came in we went backwards. I just hope that the guys confidence is not waning. cutting out the mistakes and penalties is pivotal or it will be a longer season than it is now. it is all about winning the big south now. i know i will be called a hater, stupid or whatever, but after three games Im not impressed with our coaching staff. Props to montana though. and to FSN. TV..please sharpen your game or leave. two weeks in a row, tilley made a "cove spring" reference, and he said brian hudson was starting, and ray jones....im not saying a word. like SJ said earlier if its Christian it should be better, and our TV crew is not. time for lehigh.
