I'm just messing with you. I wouldn't have made the joke (which some didn't get) if you couldn't take it. How are you losing the weight?

Ha. You're good. I actually laughed. I've been doing Weight Watchers. Down 25 pounds in 12 weeks. 50 to go.

You work for a church. Surely the Asa plan could provide self-sustaining income.

Congrats on the mission. I need to start soon.

My recommendation is more football on big screen on top of FOC, and less of the fans on the screen. I want to see repalys after each really good play. but when I look up I always see nothing but fans most of the time. showing fans every so often is good, but don't show them after every play.

I'd agree with ball coach on this one! I'm a student and was on the board, but I found myself constantly wanting to see replays, especially after the "fumble". To me LU games largely have the feel of a baseball game. Just my personal opinion. I've worked at a minor league stadium numerous years, and I think part of it as trying to make it such a family friendly (show fireworks post-loss) environment and get everyone being fanatical. Football fans don't want to see themselves on the big screen, they want to see replays. Students may want to see themselves, but this is because they don't all understand the game. Also did anyone on the student side notice the ribbon board not once having correct game updates? Looked up numerous times and saw the PennST vs UVA score from their 2nd quarter! This was pretty frustrating, not only because I wanted updates from other games, but it was embarrassing seeing it not run correctly.

They aren't going to show the replay when it was clear to all (hence why the crowd was booing) that his knee was down.

I think the Big South has rules on showing replays but I don't know that for a fact.

Well with a home crowd I think that is why it'd be beneficial. For it to be shown again that it was an error and get fans riled up. If it is a Big South thing I can understand, but replays go a long way in getting people energized about a big play, whether positive or negative.

I think they want to avoid getting the fans riled up. It's the same reason MLB prohibits showing replays of close/missed calls.

We aren't allowed to replay controversial calls on the video board.

I was so hoping that the 2001 music was dumped this year. I told my wife after the game that the atmosphere didn't seem right this game. Just don't get that same sense of excitement with 2001 as I do when I am at a VT game and hear Enter Sandman.

Not hearing the PA system was slightly annoying and playing an Elton John song...come on give me TobyMac over Elton John..at least he has a wife and is a LU grad.

Not a big fan of the LU chant either, but love the idea of the Liberty bell. It was cool at the London olympics when they rang that huge bell at the opening ceremony. I agree that Liberty needs to create their own traditions.

Loved the cowbells I bought at the Alumni tailgate. My wife took one to school to use as well with her first graders.

Finally, am I the only one who thinks the video board should be higher then it is so that no matter where you sit, the goal post and net posts aren't in the way of the screen?

I agree, I think when phase 3 is completed and the stadium is done, we should have a bigger screen put there and the existing one placed over the horseshoe. For the time being though, the goal post does get in the way of the sightline.

Well to be perfectly honest, this was my first game of many to come as a Liberty fan, as I was there as my son was there for recruiting purposes. Just some personal obersvations as what I am comparing this to is from what I observed atwhat was one another possible destination.

* the LU chant was ok not great, I would love to see the little red jacket guy getting the crowd pumped up with both sides getting more like WE ARE (one side) LU (the other)

*the game itself even though it was good, when I looked across to the other side looked like a High School play-off game. 15K is gonna sound a little different than 100K, so I know my expectations should be tempered

*scoreboard seemed to only show live replays not even in slowmo, and to echo somebody else's earlier comment unless its a big south rule, if your the home team I would def have loved to see the replay of the "fumble" everybody in the section we were sitting immediatly looked up to the board to see something only to get nothing.

*intro was ok but definately could be better at getting the crowd juiced before the home team comes out the tunnel at the beginning.

*they also take too long in playing music during timeouts

Overall I thought it was a good experience, ppl were friendly, my son enjoyed hisself(what I cared about most) and was not alot of traffic when I was leaving, lol.

The music during TV timeouts is dictated by commercial breaks. It goes long because that's how long the commercial breaks are.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, I noticed Angel in the outfield " Angel Calling " arms waiving in the fourth. I like this.

As far as the intro, and guy running out, music , video..... Im hoping that the timing kinks have been worked out. Those guys are use to a layup cupcake game for the first home game also.
