From a Montana fan:
This weekend will be a great test for Liberty and to see what they have as they go up against Norfolk St who won the MEAC last year.
Next to the Griz/App St game this weekend, the Norfolk St/Liberty game is the game I would pay to see. These two games have huge playoff implications (and yes it is too early to say that, but it was said) for OOC matchups.

NORFOLK Nico Flores got a vote of confidence from his coach after Week 1. He'll need to instill some confidence in his coach during Week 2.

Despite weak numbers from Flores against Division II Virginia State in his first game as Norfolk State's starting quarterback, head coach Pete Adrian graded Flores' performance a "B," backed the senior signal-caller and said he'd stick with his quarterback this week against Liberty.
And then there is this little nugget that should be of interest to our passing game ...
The Spartans' biggest defensive vulnerability became a little more obvious. Norfolk State will be without two of its top four cornerbacks against Liberty.

Dionte Sullivan pulled his groin against Virginia State and is expected to return against Howard. The Spartans were already without Natturner Harris, who is waiting for the NCAA to rule on an appeal regarding his academic eligibility.

I think with our top 3 we certainly could exploit NSU's pass defense. The question is will AA, SCH and Des be able to get going and keep us from being one dimensional.

#NSU practicing with loudspeakers on full today to prepare for you crowd noise at Liberty. Had issues in playoff game at ODU.
We have a lot to live up to.

can't really compare the two because it is 1) a bigger stadium (19,200 vs 19,818...ok that I guess you could call a push) 2) different circumstance (first playoff game vs. home football opener) and 3) different stadium design.

Youre saying we have a lot to live up to...our goal is to make Norfolk State's time (the players at least) as difficult as possible, not "we have to do better than ODU"

I was at the NSU/ODU game. It was nuts at times. That being said, it was just as loud at the JMU/LU game last year.
Foreman Field is a completely different design- it is closed in on both ends. I really look forward to the day the Bill is a horseshoe so we can have the same type of situation so we can really make a comparison.

Oh, and I would also like us to move up with ODU at some point in the near future...

Greetings Flames,

What is the liberty team like versus fcs competition. I think nsu plays very simple schemes versus d2 opponents and against stronger teams we actually play a bit more loose... Realized that last season. What are liberty university's strengths?

Nicely played...

I am sitting at (the) keyboard laughing while typing this post, but I didn't want to type that, so I thought I would use a clever teenage girl acronym, which apparently is the thing to do these days.

Jus' sayin' (which is also the thing to "jus' say")

SOS. Liberty is under a totally new coaching staff this year. Turner Gill is the HC with a great staff. We have a first year starting QB in Brian Hudson who looked very good at Wake (20-37 for 263 2 td and 1 int). The offense is very open with a lot of different looks. Our likely starting RB (Aldrekis Allen) was out last week for disciplinary reasons, but will be back this week. Run game was OK but needs work Allen. There is room from improvement but it was a good first showing against an ACC team. Our defense is now a 4-3 (was 3-4 last year). So far it looks like one of the best Ds in the country (FCS). I believe it would be hard to find a better pair of corners anywhere. Solid and deep at LB and the D line. Line looked very aggressive against Wake. We have a freshman kicker, but he hit a 49ydr in the game last week and has a strong leg. We had the #1 KR in the country in Kevin Fogg in 2011 but the new kickoff rules seemed to slow him a little last week.

Hope that helps.
