If there is anything I have been in a hurry for is playing and being successful at FBS football. As cheesy as it sounds, I have dreamt of Liberty making the move as far as back when I was a kid, especially growing up around USC & UCLA football in SoCal all my life.

Eastern Wash all over Idaho in the 4th. EDIT: EWASH wins.
It's time for Idaho to face facts and head back to the Big Sky.

I think the news out of the Big East could be GREAT for us given that the team comes from CUSA (possible ECU). BYU would be a good choice if they want to get some traveling partners for San Diego St and Boise.

Yeah, but in the article he said they're looking at independents. Not raiding another conference.

Has there been a single conference move where a commissioner didn't deny exactly what they were doing? It's part of the public relations/legal dance they have to play. If they were going after teams that will be independents at that time, it would be down to Army, BYU, Notre Dame, New Mexico St., and Idaho.

The Big East first preference will always be Notre Dame, however they're only a pipe dream... It can't be Army. They've already tried the conference thing (C-USA) and it went terribly wrong... I think their new commish was hinting at BYU... If not BYU, then definitely Air Force...

If the last scenario (BYU says declines BE, Air Force accepts) takes place, New Mexico St. might get their number called. But I think the MWC will look at Texas St. and UTEP first.

The Air Force has little reason to choose the Big East now that the BCS auto bids are gone. I suspect the Big East will have to choose an East Coast option.

Notre Dame would top any conference list. Big East has 2 chances to land ND Football - slin and none.

BYU and Air Force likely top their list as they would add to their western footprint.

Army is also a possibility, but I would expect Villanova to be the leader among eastern candidates.

East Coast option works in our favor. If they take BYU/Air Force it does little to help our FBS chances.

This is why I think we should start a movement to help get ECU in the Big East!

ODU would be a good fit IMHO. And we are ready to step in and take their place!

Simple solution really.

1. Get to that 25k student goal mark
2. Hire appropriate faculty/staff to go with them
3. Lynchburg metro pop doubles to 500k
4. Media market jumps from 66 to 36
5. Join Big East

The Air Force Falcons have long been rumored to be an addition to the Big East, and the conference is still hoping to add more teams, commissioner Mike Aresco said on The Chris Vernon Show Monday. The magic number for conference members is 14, and the BYU Cougars and Air Force are the two squads most likely to join.

One thing's for sure... we'll at least have 20k by 2017 according to enrollment management's 5 year plan. It sounds crazy to see lburg's MSA with 500k, but who knows... this could be closer to reality than alot of us think.

Haha I was joking, but tell me about this 5 year plan to get to 20k? I would love to believe it, but looking at the numbers we would need to increase resident enrollment by 1,400 per year over the next five years to hit 20k.
