my memories are very close to these:

Dorm rooms (I had wood paneling around the closets and no fancy shelves or desks

Les and I spent some time together to figure out the location of the prayer when Liberty first moved to the mtn and found a recent photo that made up to be a perfect before and after. I'll try to get that uploaded to here this week.

question for JFLF/HMO or anybody on the inside. does anyone have an updated for the engineering building and accreditation with ABET?

My cousin is interested but got no answer when he called. He already got into Lehigh and Penn State but wants to come to Liberty.

I asked this question to Oldflame, but even he didn't know:

Who was LBC's president before Dr. Guillerman?

Both Doc and Elmer Towns were "co-founders", but I've don't know who was the first president.

I believe it was Elmer before Dr. G arrived.

And that dorm room photo was taken in the Late '80s in either Dorm 25 or 26 before they were converted into women's dorms. I was in Dorm 25 in '85-'96 & '86-'87 before they booted the guys out for the Fall of '87.

But I have to tell you, I don't remember many raised hands in Chapel in the old Liberty Gym. So I wonder what the context was for that pic that Medic re-posted.

I guess Sly was on the BJWilliams plan.

Students were wearing jeans, so I doubt it was a chapel service. Probably a evening/weekend concert. And looks like the motions to "Lord I lift Your Name Up High".

looking at the url for that photo, it's tagged as "Stewart Arms" but that wouldve been before my time so I have no idea.

And agree on chapel not being so pentecostal (?)

English Construction has been selected as the contractor for the new medical school. They made their helicopter available to us today to view the proposed site and all the improvements under construction. Here are some photos I snapped:

ballah, call Ron Hawkins tomorrow. Tell him I told you to call. He'll give you the update on the engineering school. Progress on ABET accreditation is very good!

Great photos! A couple of questions: what's the plan for Camp Hydaway, and where's the equestrian center?

LUiminary, one of my Honors students is the assistant manager at the Equestrian Center. To find it, she said to go to the top of Candler's Mountain Road and turn left on Sunnymeade. She said they have 17 horses there now!

Thanks. A young lady at our church seriously considered LU because of the equestrian addition. Not surprised about the immediate interest. That's a great addition facility-wise.

Looking at the pictures, I wish LCA would have gone with brick instead of the industrial style siding for the gym. It will be an eyesore when entering campus from that side of Candlers Mountain Road. I understand the cost factor...perhaps we could have "donated" the money for the brick? I am sure Wayne would have been happy to do it. LCA can do what they want, but ultimately how they design will have an effect on the "aura" of Liberty's campus as well. As we are doing away completely (as we obviously should and desperately need to do) with the aluminum siding, I feel LCA should as well.

Agree about the LCA gym. Drove by it the other day and it looks out of place with the rest of the LCA building. I was actually surprised that they built something right on the road that looks like that. It at least needs some brick part of the way up to tie in with the rest of the building.

JLFJR wrote:logic, I felt the same way about the LCA siding when I saw it and called the construction guys. They are looking into what can be done.
Easy fix. Call the Art department and have them paint a brick mural! Presto, college credit and free labor!
