Workers placed the framework for a new rooftop patio on Arthur S. DeMoss Learning Center, Liberty University's main academic building, this week. Construction began in August 2011 and is expected to be completed this month.
The spacious veranda will provide a beautiful view from the heart of the academic campus. From this prime spot, students will be able to see the continuing campus transformation take place, including the new Jerry Falwell Library, currently under construction.

Liberty University wants to build a 128-foot dock and boat ramp on the James River near River Road in Madison Heights...The university owns nearly an acre at the site, at 747 River Road. LU plans to renovate a former printing plant at the site, and also wants access to 12.9 acres on Daniel Island, a portion of which is in Amherst County. The proposal has been proceeding through the planning commission process. To build the dock, LU must obtain a special exception to the county’s zoning ordinance, officials say...
Students have expressed interest in the project. “Outdoor recreation is a big part of our student activities long-range plan,” said Lee Beaumont, LU’s director of auxiliary services, in an email. “This parcel will also serve as a much-needed training area for our men’s and women’s crew teams in addition to general recreational activities.”...LU envisions using the site for canoeing, kayaking, ropes courses, trails and zip lines. The university also would like to host an annual regatta for the school’s crew team.

A considerable amount has changed to the campus plans since then. In the 5 year plan, new "traditional" dorms were going to be built, along with intramural fields. There were plans announced in the local fish wrap that a new road/bridge would also be build bridging 460 over to odd fellows road.

Must admit I'm a little disappointed that track didn't get it's own place. I think the benefits to both T/F and Soccer programs would have been worth the expense, but I guess the numbers didn't indicate that. After all, it's not like space is an issue.
