Brennan has shown nothing in the spring games an nothing in his game action. This doesnt surprise me at all ive said all along woodrum could be a 4 year starter. Also never rule out the summer transfer

Following the spring game in April, Brennan told ABC 13 Sports that if he did not become the starter it would be a failure for himself.

I was told that there are some incoming freshmen who will be in the mix for PT at skill positions.

He didn't have a QB coach the past two years. Streeter was the OC so he was more focused on the entire offense and not the qb. Talking to a former qb, the details of the position were overlooked.

thanks LANG- another good piece.

very interesting how many starters (incl 1 CAPT from last season) are further down the roster already.

speaks to the depth on both sides of the ball.

Looking forward to this fall for sure: SMOOTHIE warm up my side of the bed

Gill wants to minimize distractions
Chris Lang | The News & Advance
Published: July 28, 2012

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- In years past, if a Liberty University student sauntered through the Williams Stadium concourse on his or her way to or from North Campus in the late afternoon, that student could stop, take a break and watch a little bit of Flames football practice.

Not any more. First-year Liberty coach Turner Gill has completely closed practices both to the media and the public. Even parents of players have to receive special permission to attend a practice.

Gill has his reasons for the closures, which began in spring practice and will continue throughout training camp and the 2012 season. But they have little to do with punishing either the fans or the press.

“It’s really for the first year,” Gill said Thursday at Big South media day. “It’s really about us being so much more focused because of us being a first-year staff. We want to get so focused on how we get our guys doing things.

“After the first year, I may not have any problem with [opening practice]. I mean, to a certain extent. I’m not going to say it’s going to be totally open. I want our fans to get connected with us. But in that first year, there’s the benefit for you as a football team. … I’m trying to protect us as much as we can because of us being a new staff.”
