He is by far the greatest of all time. He never had people leave, he never had juco transfers and attendance was just plain awesome while he was here. I could barely ever find a seat.....oh wait a second none of that is remotely close to be true.
There are those on this board that do live in a fantasy world and think the AD is flawless, but then there is the fantasy world that ToC lives in. I don't even think he believes everything he says anymore, but RD was/is his boy and he will stick with his story until he dies no matter how inaccurate he is.
RD was committed to LU and was here when because he believed in the mission. Had and was building us something special. JB comes in is given full control and has the right to make his decisions. Through questionable at best tactics he discredits men's basketball and baseball. So if you want to play ruthless D-1 athletics on LU people than when you are unable to deliver improvement in the programs with unseen level of $$$ in the history of Big South Conference then he needs to be accountable. We have underachieved period. And please don't credit him with facility improvement it is the same donors that Doc had and JLFjr commitment to upgrade the campus that has
I love how you never actually respond to anybody that makes good points. You just talk about how committed RD was to LU. I think that is great. I am committed to LU too, but that doesn't mean I am the right man for the job. He had a constant influx of talent, much like we do now. For some reason that is ignored but when it happens today its wrong. That, once again, is where I get annoyed with your posts.
I have no problem with you disagreeing with RD being fired. I have a problem with you ignoring his faults while complaining about the current state of things focusing on weaknesses that RD struggled with as well. I have a problem with you have some kind illusion that COMMUNITY support was stronger. I was there, and the community NEVER supported the basketball program while I was in Lynchburg from 2003-2009. I know we have done this dance before and its quite pointless but it just annoys me.
I guess unless we bow down to RD and say he was the greatest coach of all time, then its simply not good enough.
I will close this with something I have said numerous times. I liked RD. I never had a problem with him while he was here. I am not 100% sure if the right decision was made. If anything it was made without much of a plan in place. I freely admit that, but RD was far from the perfect coach.
