The most successful program on Liberty Mountain deserves its own forum. We give Coach Green and the Lady Flames their props while breaking down their run to the Big Dance once again.

GET US OUT OF THE BIG SOUTH

Wait. If we win the Big South but will lose in the NCAA tournament how will a move to the Sun Belt or anywhere else make a difference? We'd have the same system and type of player

Move to the Sun Belt
recruit higher level player
win that conference
get higher seed
increase chances of winning NCAA tourney games

If all we have to complain about is losing NCAA tourney games, we have it pretty good. If we continually make the NCAA tourney, we will eventually win a game (again). The key is to get a 13 seed or better. Green has done it before and I trust he will again.

It will get us where we've been in the past. Winning the Big South and losing in the NCAA tourney.
But yet you say this? If we win some good OOC games well get a higher seed regardless of what conference.

I'm just saying we've plateaued as a WBB program in the BSC. If we stay here another 10 years, we will continue to dominate and will win an NCAA tourney game here and there. If we move to a better conference, our ceiling is higher.

I feel the same way.

I would agree that we have plateaued as a program to a large degree...the thing is, we havent really been pushed on a regular basis. the last two years prior to this one Gardner-Webb pushed us and now they have fallen all the way off the map. High Point would occasionally knock us off but they made their first appearance in the title game in a couple years. Radford knocked us off to end our run in 07 but they really havent been close to competitive. In the CAA yes teams got better, but as I think was already noted, they were able to get over the hump and now you have teams like Delaware and Drexel and JMU that are the big dogs in the pack. In the Big South, it seems that a dog comes up to challenge us, but it usually ends up being a different dog and you arent seeing challenges from more than one team on a yearly basis.

No but we are a women's program from the big south. Its honestly the best we can expect. I hate that, but its the sad truth.

I agree. But I've said my piece and it's not like anyone is going to listen to me anyway.

Does anybody ever listen to anybody on here. I have never seen people change their minds because anything posted on flamefans.

The Big South might be a crutch but I am not saying, nor would I ever say, it is impossible for us to have national success being in the big south. It has happened before and it could happen again. Sustaining that kind of success at this level is hard to do especially in women's basketball where the talent pool is not nearly as deep as it is in men's basketball.

I am very much a realist and know the limitations of small D1 conferences especially in women's basketball. It is what it is. I barely ever watch the women's team. I want them to do well, but even if they did well I wouldn't watch any more then I already do.

The ladies tournament has been a sleeper this year. I think the FF will be more entertaining. I'd love to see UCONN and Baylor. UCONN has a big who can match up with Greiner. Stanford is deep and ND is on a nice roll. I hope they are good games!

I'll be in Denver for the FF. Everyone likes seeing ND and UConn on same side, and wengot that rematch. Truthfully, Notre Dame probably is furthest matchup from Baylor as Stanford and UConn both have size to put up against Griner. I honestly think ND comes in playing best of all four. What they did last night to MD was truly impressive.

I still think Baylor wins it, but the storylines make for a fun week!
