If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

Anyone who attempts to state that bleacherreport is a reliable or adequate source has absolutely no idea what they are talking about. The idea that bleacherreport could be even thought of as credible is absurd.

what are you guys talking about? the guy who wrote that article completely knows what he's talking about. i mean he has a published article on the webs!

i would much rather trust his ability to scout the nearest burger flipper at checkers than a college basketball player.

don't even get me started on that jagbag. so much for being "ready for the playoffs" this guy will be a non factor. i'd rather see cjwatson/brewer mashup at the 2guard.

And he writes his own ESPN the Magazine once a month. Why is this guy not hired at The Worldwide Leader yet?

How do you establish this? I mean I do not like Duke, but I respect Coach K because he wins but how is he the best coach? Is it wins, championships, recent success, NBA futures, teaching the flop, recruiting. etc? The criteria can be used for plenty of coaches.

Roy Williams
Jim Calhoun
Jim Boeheim
John Calipari
Coach K
Randy Dunton

all can be argued for best coach ever. Just ask IMBACH or TC

Sweaty Pits --- one more statement to prove your goof....

So the ACC is better than the NBA argument basically what you typed earlier... Curtis Staples, UVA great working for thousands at VES, while VMI great Reggie Williams playing ball for 2.5 million... Yeah I would rather work at VES also.

Jeremy Lin played at Harvard, starts for Knicks, but not good enough for the ACC...

Yeah Sweaty Pits go away now.

Sorry, but none of those guys on that list can be argued for best coach ever. I'm not sure I'd put any of those guys in the All-Time Top Five. The list for top honor starts and stops with John Wooden.

I should have left out the word ever....meant current coaches. Top 5 must include, Wooden, Dean Smith and Bobby Knight.

for the love of Jeebus, the list was not meant to be a conclusive list.....you see Randy Dunton's name on there and you should know there must be some humor in the post. Tom Izzo is my favorite coach next to Roy.

AS good as Knight was as a coach, he is equally as bad as a color commentator. When he and Brent Musburger are doing a game together, it's close to the worst thing on television. I think Musburger was put on this earth to stroke Knight's ego and other things to keep him happy. Musburger even managed to call him "The Chocolate King" when they were talking about Hershey, PA, the other day ago. I just had to change games after that.

You are on crack! He may not jump up and down like Dickie V but his analysis and break down are amazing. I love watching him do games because I learn something about the game. Dry? Yes. Informative. Absolutely!

Let me add my 2 cents....The ACC is not the end all, be all of basketball. That is directed at Sweat. I don't think he has played the game if he thinks Blair, AZ Reid, Reggie Williams Danny Gathings and other Big South Players couldn't play in the ACC.

I'd take all of those guys over most of the players on UVA right now! I have played against and with literally dozens of NBA players and 1000's of divison 1 players at a high level for many years and been around the game for a long time. The main difference between Major conferences and smaller conferences is usually the 4 and 5 position. There are so many good perimeter players in this country at all levels. Just because you don't sign with an ACC team doesn't mean you can't play. Sometimes guys go under recruited. Reggie Williams and Seth Curry are prime examples. Recruiting is not an exact science.

Plus sometimes players simply develop into monsters over their 4 years. AZ Reid and Jeremy Lin are 2 examples of that.

I don't even know my point really other than I get tired of seeing silly arguments get perpetuated and sometimes I have to jump in...

As far as Curry is concerned, I am on record as saying he would thrive at Duke and I think he has. He is NOT overshadowed by anyone on that team in my opinion. He is a key part of a potential championship team. I don't think they are good enough to win it all though.

Wow, talk about inflation! I think that's a little steep.

You are right about the 4/5. But with upper level D1 players you also have to look at their booty's according to Mrs Purple. I tend to agree. Look at the quality bigs, they got some junk in the trunk, it helps create space etc. Also you see 6'10+ n the wingsat big time D1 and not so much on the Mid Major or lower level D1

SCAR is spot on.....The 4 and 5 position are why Missouri is overrated and showed in the NCAA tourney today against Norfolk St. Yeah, NCAA tourney is different, but they do not have a dominant big man and that is a big piece of the puzzle to major college hoops.

We gave Lehigh as good of a game as Duke did....so what was the advantage for Curry to leave LU?

Yeah,

He was on national TV getting owned by sum scrubs from Lehigh....Let's see....if you cant guard mediocre players from a mid-major...exactly how are going to guard NBA elites?

I think he would have prefered NOT being on TV tonight !
