So we can let post run crazy in the past, but now if anyone challenges the worth of our performance under current athletic administration the topic is locked. This has become a joke. The inconsistency speaks volume as to the political slant vs we want what is best for LU athletics. The image spin, utter deception and the attempts to silence any criticism is more damaging then we care to believe.

:blahblah :beatinghorse

Even someone who might agree with you (TOC/IMB = Same Poster) on some points, me included, gets really tired of the same old rhetoric. You cannot live your life with so much bitterness. Doc, whom I believe you hold in high regard, often spoke of how bitterness will destroy you. It is not worth it. Please for your own sake, move on... Please!

game threads get locked after the game is complete anyways. Nothing new there.

The only ones I'm locking are the ones that head down the RD/JB rabbit trail. It's been beaten in to the ground and there isn't anything further to add to the topic.

And yes, the game threads are closed after a few days have past. That's been standard here on FlameFans for as long as I can remember.

You my friend are wrong on all accounts.
#1. I personally have zero bitterness. I firmly believe that we have the wrong person in the decision making position for athletics (there are numerous examples of why).

#2. Only 3 game topics have been locked. Certainly after losing a season ending BSC quarterfinal game by 14 there is going to be a weeks worth of dialogue, unless the agenda is to make it history asap!

#3. I do not need PH, BJ, TBGBG, GRM, Sly or T/C to interpret what I have witness. I do not always agree with any including T/C but after five years of hearing the BS from JB and knowing where we were with the roster before he cut coaches legs off my opinion is warranted.

Go ahead and control the spin. You can't spin the budgets or the finishes. If we can't out compete the BSC once every 5 years then be real about the Sunbelt or MAC.

Questioning Snow White JB = the Seven Dwarfs calling it bitterness. If you can't argue the merits of our performance and attendance is dramatically sliding than they attack the messenger or try to spread innuendo's of past coaches. Unity is achieved if we all would just agree that LU athletics is a dominating force under JB :BS .

I know it looks like I locked that other one because I was the last post, but I didn't. In fact, my post will once again go ignored. I don't really see the point in locking any thread. Who cares if it goes off topic? Discussion is discussion. If you lock it, it just comes up somewhere else. No use in trying to suppress it. I mean, what is the point of a thread if nobody can post in it? Are we saving it for some kind of internet archeologist?

Here is the deal. Everyone here is fully aware of your disdain for JB. That's your prerogative. What gets tiring to all, with the exception of you ToC and maybe 1 or 2 others, is the insistence on tying any and all things bad to JB. Further, it is the monotonous mantra of holding JB, and JB only, responsible for any shortcomings on the field/pitch/court/diamond/rink/mat/huevel etc not the coaches of those respective sports or the person in charge of JB. Gas prices too high? Blame JB. Athlete blows out a hamstring? Blame JB.
Add to that the revisionist history of a gloried past of umpteen years ago being peddled with the afore mentioned blame game and you might begin to understand where other people are coming from. This may be news but the world does not and never has revolved around RD. this program has experienced success with head coaches whoever initials are not RD. LU was not a land of rainbows, unicorns and skittles during the RD days. RD is just a man, and so is JB. Both have their strong points both have their weak points. LU basketball CAN be discussed without bringing up either of their names. It is annoying that some people do not have the mental capacity to comprehend and engage that way.

I tried to answer your post but it was LOCKED. Actually MH was coach in 2002. And in 2007 once the students got back in the last six home games we averaged over 3100. Some say those counting were short on the actual number hoping to make that a negative. So we were building the fan base in 2007 have the #86 point guard in the country sitting out TeeJay, fans are excited about Dwight, Alex, Anthony, BJ, Rell and Ohman. Don't call that pathetic or the work to build it. But JB had to have his press conference and sell that he was going to take LU Men's hoops to a national level. It truly was headed there and we had the right guy in place. We waste five years on the JB experiment and the roster is no way near what I previous mentioned. Chris Lang, "CSU is a superior athletic team."

Everything here is a perfect example of how you pick and choose the facts that are there. It is also full of speculation. You could of had all the faith in the world that we were heading in the right direction but there was nothing in his tenure that even hinted at any kind of stability with players coming in and out of the program. That hasn't changed since then but RD wasn't any better at keeping things stable

So JB has no responsibility for the state of the programs he sets up. :dontgetit RD did more in his 5 years but as we know in any business if leadership changes key positions will also under some leadership styles and certainly ones with egos like our AD. For a number on us RD was the reason we got involved with LU basketball his passion for LU and Lynchburg was inspiring to my family. No doubt JB under estimated the competition in BSC MBB and what was accomplished in the wake of the MH trainwreck.

I am glad RD was fired....The man could not coach and I did not like getting calls on my dorm room phone from his office.

JB is the worst athletic director ever...lol.

Did that do it? :D

See it CAN be done :D Only one mention of JB! Legitimate criticism, not looking at the past but maybe providing an explanation. :D

Welcome back. If I remember probably the calls were to confront you about the slander you were spreading and resolve issues in a Biblical way. Also I believe that TBGBG said you were high school teammates with a player who struggled to compete at this level. The man could not coach is really funny.

So on an unrelated note if the Asa thing happened at any school other than Lib would anyone take heat other then the head coach? If it happens at Tech or JMU does any blame get passed beyond the HC? Just a thought to take this off topic.

A lot of political variables. Depends on the institution, depends on the coach. Depends on the AD etc..

Penn St?
UNLV
I know it sounds like avoiding but it really depends. If the boosters want the coach and AD gone they will be gone. If the AD is solid but they just wanna dump the coach. That's what you get. That's why I said its all political

I have an idea how about Toc and Bach get their own thread called the dead horse ramblings to voice their disdain for JB. Any disdain can be taken there, that way we don't clog up the other threads.
