I have no insider information. This is just much personal opinion. I think the Sun Belt's FCS preferred list in order is: App St, Georgia St, Liberty, and then Jacksonville St. If the Sun Belt want to get to 12 in football and their "pipe dream" school, La Tech comes on board, we need for at least two schools like FIU and N. Texas (or FAU) to move into the alliance first.

When i say we i meant GSU. sorry guys. have heard rumblings that LU is also in the mix but not inside info on my beloved alma mater. i'll be up in lynchburg sometime in the next couple of weeks so if i find anything out i'll let you know. supposedly the sunbelt has been all over the south east the past few months.

App and charlotte are enigmas at this point because like GSU's athletic department they have been incredibly silent on the issue of conference realignment. GSU's announcement yesterday was one coming for months. CUSA has also been in atlanta but I believe they will be poaching from other FBS conferences before they take FCS schools. Lots of movement seems to be on the way. The Temple domino was the one we all needed to fall. I think LU is keeping this one close to the vest until they have something very concrete, like an invite.

I wasn't going to comment on the GoDaddy thing because I think the argument is stupid. However, if we were invited to the GoDaddy bowl, why on earth would we throw away such an awesome witnessing opportunity? Thousands of non-Christians go to that bowl or watch it on T.V. Are you forgetting the mission of LU football? Doc wanted to use the athletics program to reach people for Christ. How is not participating in bowl, because it is sponsored by a company that uses risque commercials for marketing purposes, helping that cause? It's not. Don't limit God's plan.

I found a Sun Belt conference forum and found Liberty rarely mentioned. In fact, the only time they mentioned us was to laugh at the Dennis Dodd tweet last week.
