I used to go to Concord and they went to the playoffs last year in D2 in first time in nearly 20 years under first year coach [ http://cumountainlions.com/coaches.aspx?rc=45&path= ]and they are returning most of their players...Not too bad because the two years i went there they were horrible.. But i wish we would have picked up a fcs team but im happy to get to see concord play again because i played high school football with many of them and their fullback i grew up with.

It is...but you have to think about the fact that if a team already had a game scheduled for that week (10/20), if it was a conference game they cant change that date without just about every other conference team changing their schedule, and if its a non-conference game, you have to look at buyouts and then of course the team losing that game is then left to scramble to find a game for themselves and so on and so on

I think I actually like a home, non-conference gimme game. I can't wait until 2-3 years from now when the unfortunate lower division home game is against CSU or VMI.

They are a D2 school out of West Virginia and the WVIAC. We last played them in 2005 (and that is all I will say about that season)

I live in the suburbs of Concord and I don't see any colleges. We have Carson's Hardware and Deli. Thomas Terrace Market and the Spring House...

Concord is in Athens, WV (Population less than 1000). They play in the WVIAC which is one of the better D2 conferences in the nation. Coming off first playoff birth in 20 years with first year head Coach Garin Justice that was 2nd team All-american lineman at WVU in 2005. Returning quite abit of their team. Easy win but alot better than the D2 team we played last year.

Anybody who follows us the past several years could see this coming a mile away. It sucks but it is what it is. Think of it this way - is this our last D2 EVER?!

For what its worth, we had to move our bye to 9/29 to slot this game in. that is right in the heart of conference play for just about everybody.

It wouldn't hurt. A lot of SEC schools schedule FCS games as homecoming. But then again that's the SEC. And we're not... yet. lol

Golly. I hope we aren't judging recruiting succes and failures by who goes to D2 schools. I would be more disappointed had we 'lost" those players to WVU.

No two players to Concord would be enough for Concord to beat LU, but the Flames missed out on 2 good recruits that they could have got.
