From what's posted on CS.com, the following teams have openings on 9/29:

Northern Colorado
Bethune Cookman
Delaware St
Hampton
Howard
Morgan State
NC A&T
NC Central
Savannah St
Murray St
Tennessee St
Tennessee Tech
Butler
Dayton
Jacksonville
Marist
Morehead St
San Diego
Valparaiso
Nicholls St

Not sure how accurate this is of the true picture, but gives you an idea what we're looking at.

I vote for Morehead State -- I'll get to go to the game that way. Though I'm sure I can swing a trip up to Dayton.

Plus, the Morehead State game will be a cakewalk, and if we have anyone travel we could end up filling their stadium ;)

Hopefully, it is any of those teams at home. With the uncertainty of what the future holds, we should pay a team that can travel by bus a solid FCS guarantee. It would be beneficial to have 3 straight home games.

I would think of it from an inviting recruits to visit perspective, if possible. Hampton, to give 757 kids a second chance to see one of their local colleges compared to what Liberty offers, or Howard to give DC recruits a reason to travel and compare one of their local options to the facilities and potential future at Liberty.

Would it be "frowned upon" at all to play two teams from the same conference? In this case the MEAC. It just doesn't seem like it happens that much.

Now, it's a "race" between LU and Gar-Webb to get their schedule finalized and posted.........

Be careful about NC Central, you know what nearly happened 2 years ago lol. That was a worrisome came, then we killed them in the 2nd half :D

Yeah Liberty seems to take pride in always being the last team to release their schedules...

with Wake Forest, Lehigh, Norfolk State, we haev a good non conference already. I'd like to see us pick up 2 more home games, if possible. I like the post reference the "757" area recruits above

I think we would all like to have a nice easy FCS home victory fill the spot. The easier the better as far as I am concerned. Our strength of schedule the first 4 weeks is so high that having a walk-over before conference play starts would be outstanding to allow our guys to heal and refocus.

I have not heard a thing about this last game. But I would expect this to be firmed up soon.

Should happen soon. Probably this week. I'll keep folks posted and tweet whenever I hear a firm for that final opponent.

I saw something about Big east schools having scheduling problems due to the teams leaving. LU should make a phone call and invite one of them to Williams Stadium.

Probably couldnt get a FCS team to agree to come here to start a series and so they got whoever would agree to at all at this point.

It is...but you have to think about the fact that if a team already had a game scheduled for that week (10/20), if it was a conference game they cant change that date without just about every other conference team changing their schedule, and if its a non-conference game, you have to look at buyouts and then of course the team losing that game is then left to scramble to find a game for themselves and so on and so on
