I know this might cause quite a stir but next to Michael Jordan I put Kobe Bryant as one of the all time greats and I personally think he is the best scorer to ever play..yes including Jordan. This guy has a killer instinct that lacks in the current NBA game, which is why I cant stand Lebron James.

Maybe what I said was incorrectly put, but I just have an admiration for his killer instinct. The only up and coming player that I think shows something comparable is Kevin Durant. Kobe is just a straight killer when he walks on the court..there is no hidden agenda, he doenst want to be your friend or a famous celebrity he wants to win and he wants to do it mercilessly. Thats why the King is a complete fraud.

This. And before you say Kobe attempted less shots, compare the shooting percentages. Kobe's best shooting year wouldn't crack MJ's top 10.

Neither, its about how Kobe doesnt come close to His Airness.
I guess we got the thread a bit sidetracked. While I've never been anything close to a Kobe fan, I respect the numbers he's put up. He's definitely in the top 10 all-time and maybe top 5.

I have much respect for Kobe as a player. My dad is a huge MIchael Jordan fan (course he grew up in Chicago) so he'd probably put MJ above Kobe if he made a list of top players of all time.

He is gonna be a hall of famer...probably first year eligible too

I really hope he wasn't born in 84, because that would mean he was old enough to see a lot of Jordan's prime.

I became a Bulls fan about 1989 and saw some amazing performances (fond memories of watching NBA on NBC with my dad) from MJ. Id still put him above Kobe but I think if he can finally get over the hump and get another couple rings he will be right there in the discussion with him.

And sarcasm aside...I do say

I'm cool with that, as long as you know your opinion is wrong.
